As CEO and Medical Director at the Central Florida Cancer Institute and Co-director of the Plant City Cancer Treatment Center, Dr. Randy Heysek remains on the cutting edge of the latest developments and treatments in oncology. His expertise has earned him invitations to speak at numerous events. Recently, Dr. Heysek hosted the Sixth Annual Longboat Key Conference.

During the event, Dr. Randy Heysek enlightened an audience of 25 physicians about stereotactic radiosurgery, treatments for prostate and lung cancer, and other topics. One subject involved how using radiation following prostate cancer surgery can increase the chances of remission. During another segment, he discussed new radiation-delivery systems that produce minimal side effects.

Dr. Heysek dedicated another portion of the conference to aspects of the Central Florida Cancer Institute’s new HOPE Center. Serving as the newest branch of his organization, the Davenport, Florida, facility uses image-guided and intensity-modulated radiation therapy devices that provide professionals with the ability to accurately target tumors without damaging nearby tissue.
