3Km so glad to receive your letter. 3tKs great to hear that -ncle William@ *unty (ate and you are doing&ell in ong (ong. 3t is indeed not easy to make the move over there@ and 3Km concerned to hear thatyou are very stressed in your ne& school over there.

irst of all@ you need to remem+er that the school system there is different from SingaporeKs. ong(ong is not the same as Singapore even if the t&o cities are similar in some &ays. 4pen your eyes too+serve &hat the other students do and try to adopt their &ays as much as you can@ assuming it is

legal@ of courseL *dditionally@ keep your comments to yourself +ut ask uestions &hen you need to.These t&o actions alone &ill help1 you learn more a+out your ne& environment. urthermore@maintain a hum+le attitude and most people &ill +e &illing to help you.

0ext@ make as many friends as possi+le. 7nglish is a school su+=ect over there@ so there shouldnKt +eany language +arrier in making friends. Take the opportunity to &iden your net&ork. ?onKt keep toyourself all the timeL Bou should al&ays have someone looking out for you in school. urthermore@learn CantoneseL ?onKt forget that it is still the native language there@ and +eing a+le to speak it isvery helpful. 3t also sho&s your friends there that you are making an effort to fit in.

George@ 3 &ould also suggest t&o other things2 you can do to help you cope &ith any stress you mayface in future. The first &ould +e to manage your expectations. *s 3 mentioned earlier@ Singapore and

ong (ong are not the same@ so donKt expect things to run according to &hat you think it should +e.3mposing your expectations is one sure &ay of stressing yourself and offending someone else.

*nother thing 3 &ould suggest is to make sure you get your regular exercise. 7xercising helps torelease endorphins &hich have analgesic properties i.e. they help you feel relaxed. 7xercising alsostrengthens your physical +ody@ and a strong +ody goes a long &ay in helping to cope &ith physicalstresses.

ThatKs all the time 3 have no& to &rite. ?o take care and keep me updated. $etKs hang out again &henyouKre +ack for the holidays.
