Why to do a Situation Analysis?
It forms the first step of a planning often the first task
of a newly formed Management Team.
Documenting the problems and proposed strategies can be used in monitoring and
evaluation.
It can bring the different types and categories of
health worker together in a team building exercise
It can form the basis for the District Health Plan and
Health Report. Subsequent reports can be regarded as
updates.
It identifies gaps in the information that is available, and it contributes
towards the development of a health information system.
