PursuanttoCaliforniaEducationCodeSection64001(g),theSchoolSiteCouncil(SSC)mustevaluateatleastannuallytheeffectivenessofplannedactivities.Inthecycleofcontinuous
improvementofstudentperformance,evaluationoftheresultsofgoalswillprovidedatato
informandguidesubsequentplans.
AnnualevaluationbytheSSCandlocaleducationalagency(LEA)isacriticalpartofthe
continuouscycleofimprovementforaschool.Furthermore,itisanintegralcomponentof
theCompensatoryEducation(CE)FederalProgramMonitoring(FPM)reviewprocessfor
SinglePlanforStudentAchievements(SPSAs).DuringanFPM

determineiftheneedsofstudentsarebeingmetbythestrategiesdescribedintheSPSA.

dataanalysisoftheschool’sprogresstowardsitsstudentachievementgoalsbasedonlocal,
state,ornationalassessmentdata.
Duringtheevaluationprocess,itisimportantfortheSSCandLEAtoexercisecautionabout
jumpingtoconclusionsabouttheeffectivenessornon-effectivenessofspecificactivities
andprogramswithoutexaminingtheunderlyingcauses.TheSSCandLEAshouldconsider
allrelevantfactorswhenevaluatingtheplan,suchasthedegreeofimplementation,
studentenrollmentchanges,andhealthandsafetyissues.
