Bachelor Housing - takes care of BAH requests, aid in inspections, and handles "no cost billeting"

which refers to placing small units in BEQ. Also handles overseas troops to be housed in the

barracks, to include the currently housed Japanese troops for the yearly training exercise.

Bachelors Housing has 3 main purposes, which are:

1. BAH packages – Sergeants and Corporals turn in a lot of BAH packages. Please be aware, the

entire base must be at 95% or higher occupancy to allow Sergeants and Corporals to turn in and

accept BAH packages. The base is currently at 66% occupancy.

2. No Cost Billing – Units training in area on base are housing by Bachelor Housing.

3. Improve quality of life of the marines in the barracks.

Border patrol being housed at the barracks - no definitive answer. Will return at a later time with

one as it becomes available.

Overflow - Specifically the San Mateo overflow moving into the Horno area. There will be a lot

of doubling up for that area. The reason for the overflow from San Mateo is a construction project

that has lasted past its due completion time. The base is currently at 66% occupancy as an

entirety, and be aware that there's a number of units coming back from Syria to be housed on base

barracks as well.

Bachelor Housing tracks most of the barracks occupancy and the base sits at a very low rate,

which is why it is important to reflect the correct occupancy numbers throughout the base. If

something changes in your barracks; be sure to report it!

BEQ managers are encouraged to keep their database updated, as accurate numbers are paramount

to address overcrowding issues that continue to be mentioned.\
