Promoting water conservation Initiatives

1. Walk for Water: This is a mass walk from Gardens by the Bay East to Marina Barrage to raise awareness of the 5 water savings tips that participants can practise at home.

2. 5 Water-Saving Habits Exhibits with Game Stations and 17 Community Booths: event participants are encouraged to visit the 5 activity stations and community partners’ booths to learn more about water conservation at home. Once visitors have collected 5 stamps from visiting the activity stations and/or partners’ booths, they can redeem a premium.

3. “I Save” Pledge: Participants will be issued with a

pledge card for them to indicate which water-saving tip they will adopt at home and sign off with their name and contact details. In return for dropping off their pledges with us, they will be given a token.

The top 100 winners selected will each receive a $100 voucher. This initiative is fully supported by Nee Soon South.

Watermark Awards honour individuals and organisations in the public, private and people (3P) sector for their outstanding water efficiency achievements. It is an annual award organised by PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency, that recognises 3P Partners’ contributions towards the promotion and implementation of water use efficiency in Singapore. PUB proactively sources for eligible candidates; and the shortlisted candidates will be evaluated by a selection panel comprising experts from the different sectors. 10 Water Rationing Exercise Students are reminded of the importance to cherish water. Since 2016, schools have been organising Water Rationing Exercise during the month of March to mark SWWD. This year, a bumper crop of Pre-School, Primary, Secondary and tertiary school students will be involved in a water rationing exercise in March. By going through the challenges, our young generation will learn to cherish every drop of water.

In conjunction with World Oral Health Day and World

Water Day, Colgate with Singapore Dental Association

and PUB kicks off the month-long campaign with an

attempt to set Singapore Book of Record with the most

number of families brushing their teeth together. This

year’s theme of “Get Mouth Fit” is aimed at increasing

the awareness of good oral hygiene habits, as well as

inculcating habits such as turning off the tap while

brushing starting from young.
