1. Organization : The 2010 Singapore MTB & BMX Carnival is organized by ‘DirTraction’, hosted by

the Singapore Amateur Cycling Association (SACA) under the regulation of the International Cycling Union (UCI)

2. Type of Event :

This event is entered on the 2010 UCI MTB & BMX Calendar open to athletes of the Junior Men and Junior Women Categories. The event is registered as a ‘UCI class 3 for the MTB-XCO race’ and as a ‘UCI class 5 for the BMX race’. This race is a prelude to the Youth Olympic Games 2010, Cycling-Mountain Bike & BMX events. Tampines Bike Park is located in the eastern part of Singapore, in the Tampines Regional Centre. Just one-kilometre away from Tampines Mall, the entrance of the park and the parking lot are located along Tampines Avenue 9 at the junction of Tampines Avenue 7. History

• Situated on a 70-hectare site, the current Mountain Bike trail is 10 km long and offers several climbs as well as a challenging downhill sections and single-tracks. The trail hosted the Singapore Mountain Bike Carnival in 2008 and 2009, involving more than 500 participants from the US, Australia and the Asian region.

• For this year’s MTB XCO race, a 3km section of the trail, is being upgraded to make it even more technically challenging.

• The BMX track has been developed into a full-scaled BMX track designed and built by UCI BMX track builder, Tom Ritzenthaler.

• The start and finish areas of the Mountain Bike and BMX track in the bike park are adjacent to one another, allowing the spectators the best possible view of both events.
