RIU Conferences, Patersons Securities ltd, Western Areas Nl and Atlas Iron ltd are very pleased to be able to again support the Craig oliver Award which will be presented at 12.25pm on Wednesday 13 February at the RIU Explorers Conference.

This award is in memory of Craig oliver who passed away on Saturday 19 June 2010, aged 46. Craig was on the Sundance Resources plane which tragically crashed in the Congo with the loss of all people on board.

Craig made a lasting contribution to Australian mining over the course of his 20 year career. He was an all rounder who was involved in many aspects of the industry, including exploration, mining, financing and developing new projects, promoting companies and fighting political battles. He was one of the key people behind the successful Anti-Resources Tax rally held in Perth in mid 2010.

Craig’s infectious sense of humour and enthusiasm for all aspects of mining meant he was as popular in the office as he

In its second year at Explorers, the technical auditorium, sponsored by roREdata Pty ltd, will cover new techniques and technologies within the Exploration and Mining industries. This auditorium will also look at some of the issues that affect Explorers and Miners within Australia and in dealing with overseas destinations.Presentations will relate to the following topics:

Company performance

database management

drill site selection

Environmental issues

Government Incentives

land access

legal requirements

New technologies

oHS and training

Resource modelling

Sampling and data collection

The aim of these sessions is to provide educational presentations that cover all aspects of the exploration and mining processes. This is a great option for those new to the industry and those seeking to improve their companies operations. Please see overleaf the programme for the 2013 roREdata Technical Auditorium

was on the drill site or down the mine. His natural rapport with people and professional expertise earned him the respect of financiers, shareholders and mining analysts around the world.

Craig loved fishing, he enjoyed a beer with his mining mates and he was a very dedicated family man.

The Craig oliver Award will be presented annually to an ‘all round’, small to mid cap Australian mining company which has excelled in areas including exploration, mining, corporate, market results, environmental and community over the past 12 months.

The award will be presented by a member of Craig’s family.

The award is a unique and substantial sculpture in silver, titanium, copper and gold created by Thomas Meihofer Jewellers of Subiaco. The award will be held by the recipient company for the next 12 months and also receive a permanent trophy for their office.

The Award Committee consists of 6 people including representatives from the sponsors, from Vertical Events and renowned resource journalist, Ross louthean, representing RIU.

Past winners are

2011 Independence Group Nl

2012 Silver lake Resources ltd

Sponsors of the Craig oliver Award (Patersons, Western Areas and Atlas Iron) are proud to be associated with the award which we think is a fitting tribute to a fine person who contributed in so many ways to the resource industry.
