STALKANAT was founded in 1806 as a rope factory, providing products to the

seaport and equipping ships with rigging. Since Odessa city was founded, up to the

present time, our plant has overcome a huge path of improvement and development,

having a clear focus on the demands of customers in a constantly changing market

Today the Private Joint Stock Company Production Association Stalkanat-Silur is the

Reinforcement stabilized strands (ropes) have a wide range of application in the construction of complex and

essential commercial and industrial facilities.

The use of multi-wire reinforcement strands instead of rolled reinforcement allows to obtain high strength

characteristics with smaller diameter and weight of the reinforcing structure. The flexibility of the strands

greatly facilitates the design of complex structures.

Advantages of reinforcing strands compared to bar reinforcement: significantly less weight due to high tensile strength, which provides significant savings in steel;

many times greater length, which allows the use of ropes in structures of great length;

increased flexibility of ropes in combination with a large length, which makes possible to use with various methods of

reinforcement, include with continuous reinforcement.

The use of reinforcing wire products allows you to create stressed structures fully using the bearing capacity of the

reinforcing strand and improve the adhesion of reinforcement to concrete, reduces metal costs and, consequently, the cost

of prefabricated reinforced concrete structures

The production of stabilized reinforcing strands (ropes) with low relaxation at the enterprise has been mastered since

1994. In 2016-2019, new modern equipment was installed, which makes it possible to manufacture products that meet all

modern requirements. New state-of-the-art production equipment, a testing laboratory equipped for testing standard and

Steel wire fiber is designed for dispersed concrete reinforcement instead of rebar and welded wire mesh) both in

standard applications of steel fiber reinforced concrete, and for the reinforcement of supporting structures. The main

areas of use: in the production of floors of industrial buildings, road and airfield surfaces, coatings for mining

industry, wall structures, reinforcement of roads’ foundations, underwater concrete structures, stabilization of slopes

and many others.

Steel fiber is produced according to the European standard (EN 14889-1:2006):

• from low-carbon wire without coating and galvanized with the following dimensions of steel fibers diameters: 0,75÷1,05 mm,

steel fibers length: 50mm /60 mm

1-st class - 1150 МПа; 2-st class - 1335 МПа; 3-st class - 1550 МПа.

PACKAGING (this section is the same for all three types of steel fibers)

Steel fiber is packed in boxes of corrugated cardboard of 10 kg, 20 kg, 24 kg, 25 kg (or other weight at the request of the

customer). Boxes are stacked on wooden pallets with dimensions: 1100 x 950 mm in 4-6 rows depending on the weight of the

pallet ordered by the consumer. Then the boxes on the pallet are wrapped in stretch film and tied to the pallet with

polypropylene tapes. The weight of the pallet can be 900 ÷ 1250 kg. At the request of the consumer, for greater safety, the

fibers in the boxes, pallets packed in stretch film are additionally packed in polypropylene cases.

In addition, steel fiber is packed in special polypropylene bags – “big bags” of 350 kg, 500 kg, 1000 kg. The dimensions of the

“big bags” are 1050x900x1000 mm. ”Big bags” are installed on wooden pallets with dimensions: 1100 x 950 mm and are tied to

the pallet with polypropylene tapes. For greater safety during transportation, “big bags” are placed in plywood boxes with

dimensions of 1100x950x950 mm, mounted on wooden pallets. Plywood thickness is 18 mm. To facilitate wooden containers,

the two opposite walls of the box are made of planks, and the other two walls are made of plywood.

While packing steel fiber in boxes, oriented laying of fiber is performed, which eliminates the costs of construction organizations

due to the formation of lumps of fiber in the process of mixing construction mixtures and concrete.
