Simpson News: sum-
From the Heart of Justice
Greetings Simpson Church Family,
We are excited about the what God is doing here
at Simpson. We've already begun to launch
our S.E.A. Ministry Crusade which will
continue through August 31".
That's right!! ...
It's S.E.A. time!!
What does S.E.A. stand for? "Spiritual Emergency Alert"
We all are being challenged to spread the Good News and invite all who do not
know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior to fellowship with us at any of our Worship
Experiences and gatherings that are being held during the next two months here at
Simpson.
One may ask...
Why are we doing this?
The answer: If ever there is a time to witness about the goodness of God, that
time is now. We must become even more intentional in our
efforts about encouraging people to be born into the Body of Christ. We've been
commissioned by Jesus according to the Word of God which states:
"Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking
them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct
them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I'll be with you as you do this,
day after day after day, right up to the end of the age." The Message Bible;
Matthew 28:19-20
Simpson Church Family let's intentionally be a witness and reach out to
everybody and just spread the Good News because "It's S.E.A. time!!!"
Peace and Blessings,
Rev. Lester N. Justice, Pastor

Their mission statement is “Sunday Break-
fast Mission serves the homeless, addicted
and impoverished through Christ-centered
programs to meet their spiritual, social and
physical needs. Our primary goal is to re-
store people to right relationships with Go,
their families and society." We learned there

to: The Alternative To Substance Abuse and
Prevention Of Disease program

Looking Ahead
Clean Bucket Initiative: Through the devasta-

fered. We have heard of horrific weather in Ala-

Katrina, Haiti, Japan and the Tsunami. What can
I do to help - joining United Methodist Christian
Origination for Relief (UMCOR) we can be a
part of the solution. Join us in September - a
family event assembling clean buckets to be deliv-
ered to the Wilmington Hub of UMCOR and
transferred to locations throughout the world
that need assistance. The tentative date is Satur-
day morning, September 17th.
Social Security Lunch & Learn, Tues, Septem-
ber 27th immediately after bible study.
Health Kit Initiative: Health kits are desperately
needed throughout the world. Join the Mission
Team, Saturday October 22nd to assemble
Health Kits for UMCOR.

month however; due to the United Methodist
Women annual Purple Tea the Clean Bucket
Initiative will be in lieu of a regular meeting.

People Meter
For the month of July we handed out
approx 1800 flyers. We recorded 61
people outside of the Simpson Family
visiting one of the Simpson fellowships
in July via our outreach cards. Please
take SEA postcards in the back of the
sanctuary. They serve a dual purpose.
1. Give them to anyone to inform
them about services at Simpson.
2. When person comes to any
Simpson event in August we want
to record their contact
information.
There are several events in the month
of August lets us continue the charge
issued by Rev. Justice to see how many
people we can reach over the S.E.A
Ministry Crusade.

Vocal Tip # 1
All singers should remember that our voices and vocal chords need rest just
like our bodies. Singers should avoid excessive talking and laughing be-
fore a performance or ministry. If you have to speak use tones and pitches
that are low and comfortable.
When traveling, make sure that you keep your neck covered and get plenty
of rest. Have you ever been awake all night and noticed that your voice
sounds and feels different that next day? Being awake all or most of the
night, especially talking or laughing will have a negative impact on the
quality of your singing voice and often leads to hoarseness.
It is important to remember that the time we spend sleeping or resting with-
out the movement of our vocal chords allow for rejuvenation and repair.
So remember: “a well rested voice is a well sounding voice.”

In this dispensation of time we’ve seen a movement caused
by debt rising to what was called a debt gridlock to a done
deal that almost cost Government to go into default. What
looked like a tidal wave wash out. Though it may be the
spirit of discouragement which has had an impact on our
Children’s Education, the Automotive and Housing
Industry, Loss of Jobs, Financial up evil (Wall Street),
Destruction on 911, Politics (Democrats vs. Republicans,
new age Tea Party), Philosophy and Religion. We see
influence TV Prgrams, News Papers, Computers and Big
Business have had on our everyday behavior, decisions and
livelihood. All around us, we see people who reject and
ignore Biblical Principles. They’ve done and are doing
whatever they want, as long as it gives momentary pleasure
of feel good and power. Brothers and Sisters don’t fear, for
fear is nothing more than (f-alse;
e-vidence; a-ppearing; r-eal). Be not dismayed, God is not
mocked. For the logos written lets us know, God hasn’t
given us the Spirit of fear, but power, love and a sound
mind. Stand strong resolve to base your life in the Bible (B
-asic; I-nstruction; B-efore; L-eaving; E-arth).
Which speaks to us about “The Rock! His work is perfect,
for all His ways are just; a God of faithfulness and
without injustice, righteous and upright is He.” For
there is only one true God. In Deut. Moses said He is “the
Rock”, and I hear Peter saying, “Unto this Rock, I’ll build
my Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against
it. “ We must stand on His promise for His word does not
August Devotional
return unto Him void.
Hold on my Brothers and Sister to His unchanging hand and the
King of Glory shall rescue. He always plans a way of escape, and
lean not to our own understanding, but acknowledge Him and He
shall strengthen your heart. Trust in the Lord with all of your
heart and HE WILL direct our path.
Don’t give into relativism that is sweeping throughout the world,
for though you are in the world remember , you are not of this
world. Depend on His word and hold to it, the one who is the
author and finisher of our faith. (F-ather; A-rt; I-n; T-he; H-eaven).
Just know that if the Rock said we were blessed – we’re blessed! If
the Rock said we’re healed – you’re healed! If the Rock said He
will supply all our needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus –
He will! If the Rock said He came to give us life and give it more
abundantly – He shall! And if He said He would never leave us nor
forsake us – He won’t!
Remember HE is the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIGHT.
Prayer: Father God, thank you for being our
Rock. Help us to yield our hearts and spirits to
you, and fill us with your biblical principals in
word, thought and deed. Father you said the
effectual fervent prayers of the righteous availeth
much, so we humbly ask you to rise and shine and
let your glory and mercy rest upon us. Keep us
with your keeping power. Remove
discouragement and doubt. Replace with a new
boost of vitamins (BCC) boldness, confidence and
courage in this season. Father we ask that you
render unto us resources we know not of. In the
precious name of Jesus. So Be It!

Dear Church Friends and Family,
Welcome to Simpson United Methodist Church’s first edition
of our monthly communication. Our publication will be able to give
you a detailed overview of what is going on in the Church for that
month, highlight upcoming events, and share some insight that will
allow us to grow as Church Family. This edition of the bulletin is ti-
tled WNYH (We Need Your Help) this is to show that your input and
feedback is critical to our growth and development.
Inside you will find a lot of things thing that will be able to
help you on your daily journey with Jesus; also some things that you
will be able to share and help to bless someone else. We have
pointed the spotlight to Pastor Justice for his advice and helpful hints,
a youth section- specifically devoted to the growth of our youth, a
section on whose who- to highlight the different ministries through-
out the Church and even a featured picture of the month- one of our
very own. There is also a survey that we are asking for a minute of
your time, to help us know how you wish to receive communications
and making sure that we have all of your correct contact information;
your response if greatly appreciated.
We have decided to create a naming opportunity for our monthly
publication. All interested members are asked to send your suggested
names of Monthly News Publication to [email protected] or
