For example If I were assigned a gear this is how I would start

Gears are similar to the wheel and axle simple machine except gears have teeth that attaches to another gear, allowing it to turn. Gears can come in various sizes and a specific amount of teeth which allows them to turn and change object’s speed or force. Bicycles use gears in both ways. If you want to pedal up a hill, you use gears to increase your force so you don't have to work quite so hard but this also reduces your speed at the same time.
