During the last fifteen years I have worked for numerous clients from a very broad range of industry sectors.
In addition to my own clients I also developed some very significant long-term working relationships as a freelancer with a number of Design and Marketing agencies within the Yorkshire region, including: Iris Associates (Sheffield), Corporate Document Services (Leeds), 10th Planet (Sheffield) and InHouse Marketing (Huddersfield).

I was a senior member of the design team at Gray Associates for over 7 years. In this time I was fortunate to be able to handle design projects from many major clients including: Ring Lighting (Leeds), Sanderson Computers (International), Sheffield Wednesday FC, Sheffield Colleges, The Royal Armouries (Leeds), Ant Marketing (Sheffield) and Towsure (Sheffield).

My first position after graduating saw me work for a small company on the North Lincolnshire coast (where I originate from). This region relies strongly on the food production and distribution industries and services. This was reflected strongly in the projects we undertook, including all manner of packaging graphic design for frozen foods and print design for logistics and distribution companies.

When I started, Macs looked like sewing machines. In fact, for the first 6 months in my first job it was still artboards, artwork, bromides, wax gum, grant enlargers and sending off copy to be copyfitted. You could also get a full night out and fish n’ chips out of a fiver etc, etc.
In the ensuing years I think I’ve turned my creative skills to just about every type of design work there is: Corporate Identities, Branding, Brochures/Annual Reports, Catalogues, Leaflets, Advertising, Exhibition Stands, Signage and Packaging. I HAVE done plenty of website design, but because everywhere I’ve ever worked already HAD a dedicated web designer, I was always only assigned to creating the ‘pretty bits’ not the engineering.This is something that’s beggining to change as I offer highly functional website design with the help of Adobe Muse I have been mastering of late.

APART FROM THAT, WHO AM I?
Well, I’m married to Judith, and I’m blessed with two terrific daughters aged 10 and 6. They are beautiful and intelligent, but I’m pretty sure they’re mine....
When I’m not working, emptying/loading dishwashers or washing machines, dropping children off/picking them up from educational establishments, reading stories, helping with homework - I like to sleep....
But seriously......
I’m a keen lover of music. I’m lead vocalist and guitarist in a covers band, all regular healthy mid-life-crisis stuff.
I (apparently) break ALL the rules by supporting TWO football teams, Sheffield Wednesday and Liverpool, as well as England - but that’s fine because they all bring me equal amounts of utter disappointment and despair.
My taste in movies is terribly blokey: war, science fiction etc..... but I don’t like horror and I shudder at the amount of girly rom-coms I’ve had to sit through....
What else........I’m a regular attendee of live comedy, I prefer red wine, I have a full driving license of course, I run aprrox 15 miles a week and I’ve never smoked.
