Digipak
The digipak is important as it is how the audience
or customers will recognise the piece. Having an
engaging digipak will make the album more
memorable.
When the album is downloaded on a mobile
device, the front cover of the digipak will be the
default thumbnail to indentify that album.
The digipak can also be used to set the tone for
the album. The moods and themes can be
expressed through the digipak. It can act to
foreshadow the album.
We were somewhat inspired by the artwork for Babyshambles’ Sequel to the prequel. The artwork consists of vivid colours are complicated shapes/lines/marks. We thought that the combination would be very engaging and appealing to our target audience. The bright and varying colours also makes the cover stand out. Making it more memorable.
We also used their idea of important characters on the cover. We liked this as it highlights who the main focus of the album are.
Webpage There are some similarities between our webpage and that
of ‘Krewlla’ in terms of layout. Their webpage begins with the name of the artists and then some links. It then has a banner featuring the artists and their work. Then below that content such as albums and articles relating to the artist. We have a similar layout because we thought that this clean, well defined webpage looks highly professional as well as functional. The actual content of the webpage seems to be contained to a central column. Similar to ours.
Music video We took some inspiration from the music video for
"You know that I'm no good“ by Amy Whinehouse.
We recreated the kitchen scene as best as we could. We had our actor fit on the flow in despair, in front of kitchen cabinets, alone. We felt like music video by Whinehouse had this powerful scene which conveyed the mixture of emotions that were relevant to the story.
