Hello Friends,
I have a few things I’d like to let you know about…
Several months ago I put out the call to members to contact former office manager, Susan Shisler, if
they would be interested in sharing “their story” to be included in an anthology of stories of Senior
Center members. Well…after months of work - collecting, writing, editing and re-editing, the book
has been published. Reflections is a wonderful assortment of stories from twenty two of our Senior
Center members. We have some amazing members! On the evening of Wednesday, August 5th,
Susan, along with those members, will be here to talk more about their stories and how Reflections
came to be . All are invited!
The Cheektowaga Senior Center has invited our members with members of other Senior Centers to
join them for a great night out on the town, full of fun and music, on Tuesday, September 5th 5pm –
8pm. Taking place at the Millennium Hotel (2040 Walden Ave., Cheektowaga), the evening will start
with a family-style meal. Following dinner, BEATLEMAGIC will recreate the aura and sound of the
Fab Four through numerous phases of the Beatles’ phenomenal career. Price is $36/person. Dead-
line to reserve tickets is Monday, August 31st. Call the Cheektowaga Senior Center office at 689-3930
for tickets.
Don’t miss our Community Day and Open House on Friday, August 28th from 3pm to 8pm. Invite
your friends and family. Activities are scheduled for children, The Buffalo Dolls will entertain, and
everyone can enjoy a complementary hot dog, chips and beverage. Let’s show our community what
an active and vibrant place the Clarence Senior Center is!
Have a great month,
Karla
