ConcertTHE GHOST OF PAUL REVERE Saturday, July 2Born on the banks of the Saco River, brothers in all but name, the Ghost of Paul Revere is Maine’s holler-folk band. With a sound built around powerful three-part harmonies, energetic performances, and a non-traditional way of interpreting traditional American music, their songs have unique identities while still remaining undeniably the Ghost of Paul Revere. They use a masterful combination of melody and energy, somewhere between folk and foot-stomping bluegrass, that has already given Ghost shows legendary status.

ConcertTHE BOMBADILS Sunday, July 17Canadian maritimer Luke Fraser and prairie-girl Sarah Frank share a love of folk songs and fiddle tunes. Drawing from the Canadian, American, and Celtic traditions, the two pour the spirit of story-telling and kitchen parties into their own writing. Luke brings guitar, mandolin and home-grown east coast vocals in harmony with Sarah’s singing, lyrical fiddle playing and claw-hammer banjo. The Bombadils have performed at folk festivals across North America, and in 2014 were artists in residence at The Banff Centre, as well as Canadian participants at Ethno Sweden, a folk music exchange between 90 musicians from 15 countries.

Workshop “TO NOT FORGET: CREATING A LEGACY THROUGH GUIDED AUTOBIOGRAPHY” WITH PHD. VIVIAN CLAYTONMonday-Friday, August 8-12Silver Bay offers a wonderful haven for families to gather and catch up with one another, creating opportunities to share personal history, forming an oral legacy. Why not consider a written one as well? This five day workshop will offer a structure

that stimulates the recall of personal events that have given your life meaning and purpose. Major themes will be offered as starting points. Orienting questions will help you write a two page summary during the day on each theme. Exercises in class will provide the opportunity to either share or listen to the individual stories of the participants.

Seminar “FORMING NARRATIVES OF HOPE FOR TIMES OF DESPAIR” WITH THE REV. DR. SANDY SELBYMonday-Friday, August 15-19 This seminar will challenge our culture’s litanies of fear and despair by examining how to live meaningfully in the present while building future stories of hope. Areas of exploration will include finding meaning in the workplace, navigating times of crisis, and living well before we die. The Rev. Dr. Sandy Selby directs “Tough Work” Outreach (Akron OH), which ministers with people in crisis and those who work with them. Photography Presentation “ADIRONDACKS BY THE LIGHT OF MIDNIGHT” BY MARK BOWIEMonday, August 15 Some of the Adirondacks’ most spectacular beauty and solitude are reserved for the landscape at night. Above, the indigo sky is dotted with multi-colored stars, brilliantly beaming planets, distant constellations. Stars wander parabolic paths across the sky. The moon launches itself into its trajectory. And at night, the camera allows us to record phenomena we are physically incapable of seeing. Long exposures capture objects in motion, creating metaphors for the passage of time and the seasons. People and the wildlife are creatures of the night, their behavior impacted by it and entwined with it. Experience the unimaginable beauty, mystery, awe and wonder of the Adirondacks at night.
