What we focus on increases.

We all know this.

Yet, too often I work with couples that are not applying this one simple rule. When John and Mary came into my office, they complained that they weren’t happy with each other. Mary’s biggest complaint was that John wasn’t romantic, caring, or attentive enough. John complained that Mary didn’t acknowledge him, and often treated him like a child. As with most couples I see, I heard their words and knew that the words were like oil on water. What they said was the surface stuff. There are always deeper issues at hand.Just like many couples, John and Mary had a pattern of giving strong attention to what was unwanted.

In our first session their complaints filled most of the ninety-minute session. Toward the end, I asked John and Mary each to tell me the ways in which their partner had met their standards, and in what ways their partner enriched their lives. Mary and John looked perplexed. I was asking them to do something they hadn’t done in most sessions. Unbeknown to John and Mary, I was beginning to reprogram them. I was beginning the subtle yet powerful work of steering their relationship towards the three A’s — Appreciation, Admiration, and Affection. After thinking for a moment, John and Mary responded with some amazing acknowledgments. John said that Mary told him often that she loved him, gave him affection, and cooked for him; and that their sex life was fantastic. Mary agreed that she did those things.

Mary shared that John worked hard to make a majority of the household income. He fixed things around the house and often spoiled her. As she shared, she straightened her body, her voice had more energy, and there was more light in her expression. Then, as most clients often do before finishing, she began to add how he failed at…Before she could finish her statement, I interrupted her and focused on what John did well. She hesitated, then said she appreciated that if she ever needed something he would help her. I assigned to them my couple’s Appreciation Deck. The following week our next session changed tremendously. I asked Mary, “What did you get out of the Appreciation Deck, and is there anything you would like to appreciate John for?”

The Law of Attraction and Your Relationship: How it Can Help Your Love Life

By Luis Congdon

It’s all in the KissKissing is the fun part of falling and staying in love and there are many songs and quotes about

why that first kiss is so important. It has even been suggested that the feel of the first kiss is how we determine if a person is the one for us. Researchers expand on this by informing us that kissing is biology’s way of determining who we will be most genetically compatible with. Not only does kissing connect us in lust and love, but there are many other benefits that do not meet the

eye when there is a collision of the lips and tongues.

1. Kissing increases happiness. Kissing increases levels of oxytocin, also known as the “Love Hormone” and this floods our neurons with dopamine. This feel good hormone puts lots

of happy smiles on our face.

2. Kissing Strengthens our Love Bond. The more we connect with another through kissing, the more our brains fire and wire for increased positive connection. Couples who kiss regularly may live up

to five years longer than those who don’t.

3. Kissing burns calories- Yeah! Some researchers suggest that kissing can burn up to 2 to 6 calories a minute….just fabulous!

4. Kissing lowers stress. It decreases the stress hormone cortisol and increases serotonin levels in the brain. This contributes to lower levels of anxiety.

5. Kissing keeps us healthy. It improves our immunity by releasing antibodies that kill bacteria. Who would have thought that kissing can assist in the prevention of cavities by increasing saliva that washes our teeth? A

kiss a day may very well keep the dentist at bay!

Top Reasons to Kiss List:· Keeps us stay connected with our love partner

· Can help with preventing relationship conflict

· Lowers our blood pressure

· Increases serotonin/lowers anxiety

· Reduces pain

· Increases happiness

· Fights off cavities

· Makes us smile more

· Improves our mood

What is your destination?Do you know how great you are? Are you aware there is no one else like you on the planet? No two people are the same, not even identical twins are exactly the same. There will never ever be anyone like you born under-neath these stars again. That makes you a gift, but what are you doing to live the life you’ve imagined? When you realise how great and valuable you are, life will take you in a new direction. Your life will become a journey, not a destination.

I want you to imagine yourself as a sports car. The car is a reflection of your-self and how you have been living your life. What gear have you been driv-ing in? Just the first gear, or all the gears? Are you using all of your special talents and abilities? Is the tank of your potential high or is it low? Are you driven to succeed and embrace inner fulfilment or are you happy coasting along in the slow lane, watching life pass you by?By paying attention to the condition of your car and check to see how it’s running, you may discover that something needs changing. If nothing ever gets repaired, life will stay the same, and your joyrides will never be as fun and exciting as they could be.

Pay attention to the squeaks and creaks because self-discovery is a sign post on the road to enlightenment. For example, do you have to slow down, so you don’t burn out? Or do you have to increase more throttle to get to your destination of happiness?Let your imagination and creativity drive you. You’re going to have to make a commitment to yourself, be dedicated, put the effort and the time in and get out of cruise control. Don’t worry about the ‘how’, let that take care of itself. By challenging yourself and getting into the driver’s seat, and strapping yourself in, all opportunities will be revealed to you along the way. It’s time to turn the ignition and go. Momentum and desire is the fuel in which hope runs.

Along the way to your destination, you will be met with detours, road blocks, speed bumps and large potholes. These are the obstacles put in front of you to challenge and test you. Be prepared to crash, stall or even be side swiped. Whatever you do, don’t put on your hazards and head into the emergency -stopping lane. Don’t put yourself into neutral and head back to your comfort zone, don’t quit, stop or give up. Perseverance is the number one driving champion’s skill; talent can only take you so far.

Other rescues in care include a mare and her foal rescued from a saleyard, a beautiful big waler, a very skinny aged gelding and several other unhandled colts. Horses are a big part of the work that Cindys Promise does but many other animals have been rescues and rehomed including day old chicks whose mum was eaten by a fox. Cindy works hard to finance these rescues so that they get the best of everything. I currently have around 500 members on my page who support my cause and i get great support from my local feed store “ Hadlow & Sons” in Doreen. “I am currently awaiting for official Not For Profit status so i can increase my rescue numbers and get help with funding!” Whilst mostly self funded by working, single mum Cindy Cattch – the group hold regular fundraisers such as raffles and auctions via the fb page to help with large feeding and vet costs. “My family and friends give me amazing support in so many ways. My passion only grows by the day and this year when i become official NFP and secure more land – I will be aiming to double the number of lives saved last year and continue to grow!”

Rebecca has at last reached the age of independence as far as hair washing is concerned. She now washes it under the shower, which is a relief, because it has taken many years of frustration on her part, not to mention the wear and tear on my nerves, to reach this stage.

When she was little, I used to wash her hair in the bath. All went well until I stood poised over her with a jug.She would eye me suspiciously, and ask, “What’s that?” I’d reply, “You know what it is. It is a jug for Mum to put water in, to rinse the shampoo off ” “No” she would shriek, “Take it away. I want to leave the soap on, it feels nice”No amount of yelling or reasoning would make any difference. The end result would see her thrashing about in the water with me drenched and the bathroom awash.

Always on the lookout for alternative answers to the problem, my next-door neighbour gave me a hint.“Wash it under the hose” She said, “Becky will love that” I decided to give it a try. “How would you like a picnic in the garden?” I asked Becky. “And when we have finished, as it’s a lovely hot day, I’ll wash your hair under the hose” Unfortunately, it was not one of my neighbour’s better ideas. Out came the hose, on went the shampoo and off went Rebecca. She ran all around the garden screaming “Take it away! Leave me alone!”I was in hot pursuit, brandishing the hose and watering everything before me – including the cat and the wasing.I must admit, though, the escapade provided a free afternoon’s entertainment for theneighbours, whose heads appeared over various fences in rapid succession.

That idea was laid to rest and I came up with another one. This time I stretched Rebecca out on the kitchen draining board and washed her hair in the sink. Her cousin was invited over to witness the event, which got off to a flying start. I even told her the story of Rapunzel as I figured there was a girl with an acute hair problem and was in the act of removing the plug when the cousin piped up.

“What’s going to happen when you take that out?” She inquired. “Will her hair go down the drain?” The whole thing was too much for Rebecca. I spent the next hour trying to calm her down. But now she’s older the problem has ceased. The only thing she doesn’t like now is drying it. “I wish you would cut it,” She complained recently “Then it would dry quicker”

“But you don’t like short hair” I replied, “You would be sorry if it were cut”However it was Rebecca’s friend Hailey who yesterday put the stamp of approval on short hair.Rebecca came running up to me. “Guess what’s happened? Hailey’s got short hair, up to here” She said, indicating her ears. “Does it look nice?” I inquired. “Oh yes,” She replied, “Now she really looks a perv”“I think you mean superb” I murmured. I hope she does. What, with the cost of haircuts these days, who’d want to come out looking like a perv?

HE BREAK T P BLUESU

Page 26: SilentEarth The Magazine Vol 4

Still feeling blue after a break-up?

Perhaps it’s time to cut the cord.

Ahh the dreaded Break – up. They happen. They happen a lot. The question is, how do YOU handle the break –up? Do you stuff your face stupid? Do you wine/whine? Do you talk excessively to your friends about it until you have lost those people as well? Do you rip up photographs, cry your eyes out, swear you will be single for the rest of your life? Yes, you’ve had your heart smashed into tiny little pieces and it hurts. It really hurts. You want the pain to end, but you don’t know where to begin. Well, you begin at the beginning.

When you met this person your eyes locked across from a crowded room. You felt a pull. It knocked you for six. Your heart Chakra opened up and you felt an unexplained attachment. Well you are not far wrong. You were attaching yourself to this person…on an energetic level that is.You start dating and you talk about this person excessively to your friends, and your family, and the taxi driver, and the banker, and the bartender, and the neighbor, even the postie can’t avoid you. This is what is known as the love bubble. It is just you, your new lover and one big bubble of love. Your partner has now attached themselves to you are you are connected. Life is wonderful. Everything is so vibrant and life is fantastic!! The two of you are stuck together, by energetic suction cords and nothing is going to break you. That is, until the break up.

When you break up from someone, the cords that have been anchored deeply into your soul, rip apart. The pain is severe and it feels like your heart has been ripped out. It has, on an energetic level. You now have a big gaping hole where there was a chord firmly attached. You are now open to other people’s pain and negativity and your own self worth and self love is escaping through this open vortex. The hole needs to be closed up and closed up fast and you need to be tucked in, safe. In order to close the gaping hole in your heart, visualize yourself standing underneath a white waterfall of light. The light washes all over you, washes out any dirt and gunk that is in the hole. Follow the visualization now with gold light from the top of your head right through to the floor. Imagine the hole sealing itself in gold so it is completely closed. Finish with 3 purple hoops, one after the other, starting from your head and it falling through to the floor. This will ground you.

You may need to do this daily, until healing commences. How do I know if I’m starting to heal? When you start feeling better then the healing has commenced. So you have mended the hole in your heart, the hole of where your partner once resided, but you are still attached to them. You now need to remove yourself from them. You may think you’re already detached, that is until you hear that song, or you see that mutual friend, or until you see that photo and BAM you’re back to being attached. Your attachment cord needs to come back to you. Much like a vacuum cleaner cord. You press the button and it comes wizzing back. If you leave the cord floating around, it can then attach itself to anything or anyone. The cord needs to attach, that’s its job.

Page 27: SilentEarth The Magazine Vol 4

Don’t find yourself attaching to something or someone you truly don’t want to be attached to.People can find it easy to attach themselves to addictions, obsessions and rebounds and tend to find themselves in situations that they usually wouldn’t be in under normal circumstances, so it is important that you detach and retract.

Detach yourself from this person by visualizing them standing in front of you, connected to the cord that is binding you together. Pull the cord off the person (detach) and then pull the cord towards you (retract) until the cord is tucked away into your heart chakra where it can mend. The cord will be diseased with pain, sorrow and negativity. It needs to mend in order to function at full capacity. If the cord does not mend, it will attach itself to your new partner and ‘old baggage’ will present itself in the new relationship. It’s because the cord is dirty, it needs to be emptied and cleaned. How do I clean the cord? The cleansing is different for everybody. Some people meditate, some go into therapy, other’s do things for themselves and give themselves the love that they deserve. If it makes you fell good, and it enriches your soul do that because then the cord is starting to cleanse itself.

How long does it take to clean the cord? As long as it takes. You cannot rush this process. This is a perfect time for discovery. You will discover things about yourself that you did not think you were capable of doing. When I was mending and cleansing, my biggest fear was going to the movies by myself. In the middle of my mending, I went to the movies and sat there and watched a movie and ate my popcorn by myself. When I walked out of the movies, I realized that I was mended. My mending was to overcome a fear and then I was healed. I was a different person when I walked out of that cinema as opposed to walking into it as I had related the movies to relationships. I believed only those that were in a relationship went to the movies, so going there as a single person was challenging, but I overcame it and was mended.

Holding on to the pain or past loves can also destroy one’s soul. Life is ‘on hold’ and these people are not living they are merely surviving. They are caught up in their own pain and suffering, where their life is passing them by. These people have had their soul ripped out of them, usually due to a close death in the immediate family and will forever be lost in their own pain and suffering on an energetic level. These people wear their life on their face and you can read their pain in their sorrowed eyes. This type of loss, which has also been known to occur with breakups, needs intense energetic healing on every level to attach their soul back to their body again in order for that person to heal. It is a long process and one that can’t be done alone. So as you can see, some energetic cleansing is relatively easy and some is painful and difficult to grasp but remember, time does heal all wounds and you must know when to ask for help….and to ask for a block of chocolate.

Cindy’s Promise – Rescue & Rehab is a private group dedicated to rescuing animals in need, rehabilitating them and This group was initially started in May 2014 via Facebook by passionate animal rights activist and veterinary nurse Cindy Cattach of Wollert Victoria. Cindy has a background of 20 years of veterinary nursing, 15 of these years in emergency/critical and currently working at a Melbourne Open Range “This has always been my dream since a little girl. For as long as i can remember – I have saved nursed and loved animals of all kinds” says Cindy. “My life is animals! Both at work and at home”. Cindy’s Promise was started when Cindy rescued 2 yearling colt brothers from slaughter at a knackery supply yard. These 2 gorgeous baby boys were run onto a truck as unwanted breeding stock and sent for slaughter. Wild and completely untouched – their future was very grim indeed. “I just remember seeing their gorgeous but terrified faces on a facebook site and couldn’t get them out of my head!”.

Known only as number 240 – Cindy purchased them for a measley $250 each and had them trucked down to her property in Victoria. From the same yards – an absolutely terrified grey colt only 7 months of age was also saved by Cindy for $275. Known as number 175 – this wild baby boy was trucked down with the 2 chestnut brothers. The 3 boys arrived absolutely scared out of their minds and so flighty that it took weeks for Cindy to even get within a metre of them. They carried huge worm and lice burdens and were very malnourished – taken away from their mothers so young and kept in dirt yards at the knackery sup-ply yards.

Cindy has a team of amazingly talented and dedicated professionals supporting her work. “My amazing vet, trainer, farrier and dentist are a big part of my work”. Six months on – the 3 colts, now known as Gar-net, Artax and Daijon, are gelded, halter trained, vaccinated and looking amazing. These boys will con-tinue handling and training until they are at a suitable age to be rehomed to their perfect forever homes on lifetime contracts. Cindys Promise currently has 13 horses in care – including the beautiful aged grey mare “Stardust” who was rescued from a saleyard in sep 2014. This gorgeous old pony had spent all her life teaching kids to ride only to be discarded as trash and sent to the saleyards in disturbing condition when she was no longer wanted. Stardust was very skinny, carrying a heavy worm and lice burden, had a nasty untreated rope burn and terribly neglected teeth and feet.

“She could barely walk off the truck when she arrived and could not look me in the eyes! She was so de-pressed and so hurt by humans. I remember shedding many tears for her”. Stardust’s feet were so badly neglected that she had very severe laminitis, a condition where main hoof bone un-attaches from the inside of the hoof and sinks down causing indescribable pain and ultimately death in a large number of cases. The bones in her front feet were only mm’s from erupting through the bottom of her feet. Despite a poor prognosis of recovery – Cindy has had many xrays and special procedures on her feet and 5 months later Star is walking and trotting around her yard! She looks like a completely different horse! Now known as Princess Stardust J

Page 29: SilentEarth The Magazine Vol 4

People aren’t surprised that I pursued Makeup Artistry. When I was seven years old I started Art Class because I always enjoyed painting and doing Makeup seemed like the natural progression.

Before I embarked on my Makeup journey, I actually studied a Diploma inAudio Engineering and Sound Production. Unfortunately, It wasn’t really what I thought it would be. It’s more computer based these days and it kinda takes the art out of creating music. When I finished that, I started a Diploma in Makeup a few months later.

I studied Makeup at The Australian Institute of Creative Design. It lasted 10 months at three days a week with full time hours. I would team up with another student and we would apply makeup to each other and take it in turns.

I especially love doing the avant garde runway crazy beauty looks, but I also discovered that I love the character work as well and not to mention stage makeup. Special Effects is cool too, making cuts and scars.

I get asked what it is about makeup that I love so much. It’s because makeup can change people, instantly. It can give them confidence that they never had and completely transform them. You can be creative with Makeup. I did my first wedding a couple of months ago. That went really well. I love doing the natural looks as well. I would also love to do stage makeup, like The Lion King.

I can honestly say that I love what I do. Makeup Artistry is what I want to do for the rest of my life.

LIQUID CRYSTAL AUSTRALIA specialises in the manufacture of unique dichroic glass jewellery. Based on the Sunshine Coast Queensland we are never short of inspiration from the beautiful ocean, rainforests, sunsets, flora and fauna which we are so fortunate to be surrounded by every day.

Every piece of dichroic glass jewellery has been designed, hand cut, fired, polished and set in our studios in Yandina by Liquid Crystal Australia glass artists. Dichroic glass is made by fusing fine layers of Quartz Crystal and Metal Oxides onto glass. The fusion process creates a crystal like structure which reflects an array of vibrant colours. This is a complex process which has been mastered by only a handful of manufacturers. If you are new to dichroic glass, you are in for a real treat as you discover the multi-coloured brilliance of transforming dichroic glass into a captivating piece of wearable art.

What we focus on increases.

We all know this.

Yet, too often I work with couples that are not applying this one simple rule. When John and Mary came into my office, they complained that they weren’t happy with each other. Mary’s biggest complaint was that John wasn’t ro-mantic, caring, or attentive enough. John complained that Mary didn’t ac-knowledge him, and often treated him like a child.

To-ward the end, I asked John and Mary each to tell me the ways in which their partner had met their standards, and in what ways their partner enriched their lives. Mary and John looked perplexed. I was asking them to do something they hadn’t done in most sessions. Unbeknown to John and Mary, I was begin-ning to reprogram them. I was beginning the subtle yet powerful work of steer-ing their relationship towards the three A’s — Appreciation, Admiration, and Affection. After thinking for a moment, John and Mary responded with some amazing acknowledgments. John said that Mary told him often that she loved him, gave him affection, and cooked for him; and that their sex life was fantas-tic. Mary agreed that she did those things.

Mary shared that John worked hard to make a majority of the household in-come. He fixed things around the house and often spoiled her. As she shared, she straightened her body, her voice had more energy, and there was more light in her expression. Then, as most clients often do before finishing, she began to add how he failed at…Before she could finish her statement, I interrupted her and focused on what John did well. She hesitated, then said she appreciated that if she ever need-ed something he would help her. I assigned to them my couple’s Apprecia-tion Deck. The following week our next session changed tremendously. I asked Mary, “What did you get out of the Appreciation Deck, and is there anything you would like to appreciate John for?”

By Luis Congdon

Page 49: SilentEarth The Magazine Vol 4

She smiled and said that she realized she hadn’t been seeing John for how great he was — how supportive, loving, attentive, and unconditional he was towards her. Similarly, John had discovered how much Mary gave of herself and how she always supported his dreams. He had real-ized he was lucky to have such an amazing wife. The session was a dramatic shift from the first one. We moved through some coreissues, but this time each step was done with conscious love andawareness.

Kiss Me!!…

Page 51: SilentEarth The Magazine Vol 4

Chris and I went out when we were in high school. I was 14yo and he was 15yo. We went to different schools but we would always meet up at the local milk bar on our way home. We went out for nearly a year. We hadn’t seen each other in 34 years, but he was my first love and I never went a day without thinking of him. He was my first kiss and first and last love. We have been together now for 4 years and we hope to marry one day. We both have been married before but now divorced. Chris told me when we met up 4 years ago (we found each other on Facebook) that when he used to see me walking to the milk bar after school he would sometimes run and hide cause he was very nervous and felt sick...LOVE-SICK!

Wendy 50

I had my first kiss when I was 15 with my high school girlfriend. It was in the most romantic place - the playground of our local Hungry Jack’s. I was too nervous to make the move, so luckily she did. I remember not knowing what to do so I didn’t really move my lips at all. It was awkward. We never kissed again.

John 22

I was in Grade 7. It was really brief, nothing exciting just a smushing of lips together!!

Sascha 30

I remember it like it was yesterday. I was 16 and he was 17. I was at his house and we locked lips for the first time. I was so overwhelmed that I fainted. I haven’t had a kiss quite like it since!

By nature Justin you are naturally sensitive, intuitive and a creative person. At heart you’re a loving, caring individual who makes a great friend and part-ner. You are very loyal to those you love but once someone breaks that trust it’s hard to regain it. Family is important to you. At times you might not be able to tell the difference between your thoughts and your emotions, making you feel frustrated at not being able to express yourself in the way that you would like. There can be a deep inner tension at times.

Meditation would be great for you to still your mind and let go of any stress that you carry. Going to the gym or any form of exercise, and even prefer-ably around water would suit you perfectly. You have great hand-eye co-ordination, so you would be good at sports such as golf or tennis. At times you can be your own worst critic and can be quite hard on yourself. Don’t be as there’s no such thing as perfection, only improvement. You like to take care of your appearance and yourself. When there is an issue you feel strongly about, you become quite courageous and opinionated. There is no in between with you, it’s either right or wrong. It’s important to find balance in everything, as there are many shades of grey. You may also have strong opinions about religion.

Creatively speaking, have you ever tried painting, poetry or writing? Do you play a stringed instrument? Music really moves you. You like a diverse group of friends as you like to learn from others. You’re independent and like to

think outside the box. Have you considered having your own business? You would excel at consulting, advising, counselling, teaching or any type of natural therapies. You can quickly be drained by people, as you’re quite sensi-tive to the environment around you. Let go of any childhood memories that don’t serve you. You’re most happy when you feel secure, whether it’s finances, relationships, or where you live.

Palm Reading for Justin M.

You get instant gratification when helping other’s, you’re a humanitarian at heart. Embrace each moment as this is why we call it the present, because it’s a gift. Don’t get too far ahead of yourself in 2015 and go with the flow to life. Be an inspiration to all of those around you, because you are.

By challenging yourself and getting into the driver’s seat, and strap-ping yourself in, all opportunities will be revealed to you along the way.

On the road

Page 59: SilentEarth The Magazine Vol 4

If you’re comfortable, you’re not learning or growing. It’s time to use all of the gears in your sports car, fire up all of your cylinders and rev your engine. Look towards the horizon. What’s your goal, your vision? Head towards that and along the way you will be met with confidence and self-worth, they will become your travelling companions. Don’t let someone else take the wheel of your life; this is your journey. Have the courage and the get up and go to run your tank empty until you make it to your destination.
