Signs of dating abuse aren’t always as obvious as this.
It’s much more than sensing someone is just feeling “out of sorts.”
Signs of dating abuse can take many forms.
Perhaps it’s refusal to socialize with family.
Or unexplained outbursts of anger.
Sharp decline in school grades? That’s another symptom.
More frequent episodes of sadness or crying than you can recall may
explain a great deal.
Do you notice forced behavior demanded of the victim by
their abuser?
Have good friends stopped visiting?
Have they emotionally “shut down?” Is everything
now a secret?
And of course there are the physical signs of abuse.
Sometimes dating abuse can create self-abuse.
When considering whether a person has been abused, always assume the
worst.
This will give you the extra time needed to confirm suspicions.
And to provide the victim with the necessary help, guidance and possible
3rd party notification.
Please don’t ignore dating abuse’s warning signs.
Please don't let the abuse escalate if
you THINK you may know about it.
Please.
