Mechanical design and data managementNew capabilities in this service pack extend Active Workspace support for mechanical computer-aided design (MCAD) applica-tions. You can use Active Workspace to search for data and launch applications from Teamcenter, including NX™ software, Solid Edge® software, CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor. In addition to quickly and easily locating product data, users can employ the Active Workspace relation browser to define and view data relationships, establish struc-tured workflows, and share information and tasks via the Inbox.

Within the CAE Manager, you can capture the configuration (including effectivity, revision and variant rules) of the product structure to provide clear traceability of analysis data to models. Once the configu-ration is captured you can automatically apply it when retrieving or re-using infor-mation, eliminating manual steps required to configure product or model structures to view their pedigree and intelligently re-use the data.

Teamcenter 10.1.5 enables you to use Active Workspace to capture, manage and find simulation data, establish traceability, upload/download simulation files, track large simulation files residing on local servers, and launch your CAE simulation/analysis tools. The intuitive browser pro-vides simplified archival and retrieval for everyone across the extended enterprise.

BOM managementThe 10.1.5 Service Pack adds Product Configurator support for Product Structure Manager, targeted for new adopters. The Product Configurator has also been enhanced with new capabilities that allow you to re-use and share rules that apply across multiple products. For better usability, you can now specify availability for multiple products as well as edit rules in a single view.

PLM process executionProcess execution enhancements in Teamcenter 10.1.5 and Active Workspace enable you to track the evolution of impacted items using relationships between solution items and impacted items. You can simplify change management with new capabilities that enable you to access problem reports in the same location as other change items, copy content from one change object to another, create changes from the home screen, and more easily save and submit changes to workflows.

Requirements managementTeamcenter 10.1.5 enables you to increase productivity in requirements management by using familiar tools to cap-ture and edit requirements in Active Workspace. You can use Microsoft Word to create and edit requirements specifi-cations, using your company’s document and object templates. To provide a clearer understanding of the struc-ture of requirements documents and their associated content, you can use a split-table navigation view that enables you to view and edit requirements content and properties without changing views.

Supplier integrationOEMs can lower administrative costs and suppliers can com-plete tasks more efficiently with supplier integration enhancements in Teamcenter 10.1.5. With new supplier self-service tools, suppliers can create items and automati-cally reserve OEM part numbers, execute saved queries and request data packages and automatically schedule updates of data. You can also monitor sourcing events directly from Teamcenter, and manage vendor access to data in Teamcenter. Support for JBoss middleware offers more flexi-bility in system deployment.

Service Lifecycle ManagementService technicians and inspectors gain the ability with Teamcenter 10.1.5 and Active Workspace 3.0 to capture and adjust the as-maintained configuration for physical products at the point of service. This capability eliminates paper, improves data entry and integrity, and productivity for asset management.

Quality issue management with CAPATeamcenter 10.1.5 enables you to quickly and easily iden-tify, analyze and share critical product quality data across your enterprise. Using Active Workspace, you can provide high-quality corrective solutions and preventive measures through a standard, repeatable issue resolution process; integrate and relate quality, change, and product deliver-ables by defining and resolving issues in the same single source where the deliverables and changes are managed; capture the knowledge of how to resolve issues in the con-text of a deliverable, making it easy to learn from the past; and provide full visibility into quality issues and resolutions with configurable workflows, search results and reports.

Environmental compliance and product sustainabilityWith Service Pack 10.1.5, you can more easily stay compli-ant with enhanced reporting tools, additional support for standards and further automation of supplier material dis-closure. With enhanced search and reporting capabilities, you can easily find compliance-related data based on vari-ous search criteria such as substance category, thresholds, exemptions, regulations, and others. You can streamline substance compliance reporting with enhanced outbound reporting capabilities for Conflict Minerals Report Template and the IPC-1755 standard, notification to suppliers on dec-laration expiration, and system processing based on supplier part status.

Systems EngineeringFor systems engineering, Teamcenter 10.1.5 enables you to use Active Workspace 3.0 to accurately model and validate across domains, subsystems and interface definitions. For system modeling you can create containers within models

that display multiple aspects of objects or models (including measures, functions, interactions, and others), providing a quick visual reference of the information. You can also use model definition and decomposition features to create reus-able system model definitions.

New analysis request tools improve productivity by auto-matically creating and populating requests for analysis from system models. A new predefined, configurable analysis request workflow protects model, process and data integrity and helps your teams monitor the status of the requests and understand subsequent process steps. You can also optimize system performance by grouping similar analysis alterna-tives under the same analysis request to facilitate critical trade-off studies.

TEAMCENTER

New system interface management capabilities in Teamcenter 10.1.5 enable you to define the type of port or connection point on the model (for example, flow, power, proxy, or delegate) to help reduce system integration errors. You can create, remove and display the port definitions and create, edit, associate and delete signal elements for the ports defined on the system model.

Platform Service Pack 10.1.5 supports sponsored user sessions, which enable third-party applications and custom connectors cre-ated with the Teamcenter Integration Framework to access Teamcenter and perform tasks on behalf of a sponsored user who is not logged in to Teamcenter. File Management System (FMS) content verification added critical checks to ensure that the contents of files are transferred correctly and entirely, and the right people are immediately notified when failures are detected

Teamcenter Rapid StartService Pack 10.1.5 introduces simplified Teamcenter Rapid Start menu arrangements for common product data man-agement (PDM) tasks, providing a more logical and intuitive user experience.
