NEED: This proposal addresses the need for pertinent information of the innovation system environment: government, firms, and academe, in order to facilitate the creation of links between firms and academic units. • SIDECAP is an information system based on the economic theories of Michael Porter, winner of the INNOVARE 2007 national contest, in the category: Improving SME’s competitiveness trough technological innovation. • Is a technological tool where government, firms, academe, and specialized consulting, all meet in order to promote innovation systematically in a directed, efficient, and effective way. • Incontrast with other systems, in SIDECAP the user is the owner of the information, giving the system DB a high level of pertinence, as its registers are constantly updated.
