    BREAST PAIN

    LOW BACK PAIN(Medial To Lateral)

RE, clears heat Awakens spirit, unblocks yang Disperses wind Strengthens wei qi Adjusts sweating Expels dampness Benefits spine Drains damp heat

    (jaundice)

    Relaxes foot tissue andalleviates pain

Disperses wind Benefits the spine Relaxes the soft tissue and alleviates

    pain

Low back or spine pain Neck stiffness and pain, esp.

    posterior

    Arm, shoulder, scapula pain ornumbness

Finger spasm Contracture numbness Seizures w/BL62 Psychosis Hysteria ManiaJaundice Night sweats

Master Point of GV, affects both its inner and outerpathways, for vertex, occiput, posterior neck, spine, low back

MP for myofascial meridan disorders affecting thetaiyang channels (SI/BL) and the GV.

For pain in the scapula, shoulder, arm, hand, combinew/ local channel points (SI9-SI13) to relax and increasecirculation to the lateral rotators of the shoulder: thesupraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor and posteriordeltoid. On the arm and hand, this channel traverses

the long head of the triceps, extensor carpi ulnaris, andthe soft tissue of the ulnar aspect of the wrist andhand.

For stiff neck, cervical strain/sprain, pain of the backor spine, often combined with BL10, BL11, BL12, GB20,GB21, Bailao, SI12, BL60. For whiplash combine SI3,BL62 to treat the spine (GV and Yang Qiao vessels),with TW5, GB41 to treat the posterolateralmusculature (Yang Wei and Dai vessels). These 4points are a powerful balancing and antispasmodic

treatment. MP for occipital h/a from stress, muscles tension, eye

strain, combines well with local points such as BL10,GB20 and BL60.

IP for breast problems, swelling, mastitis, abscess.Palpate SI3 area with a Q-tip for the most tender pointand needle. Combines well with SI1, SI11, ST39 andLl8.

    IP BREAST PROBLEMS

    IP SHOULDER AND

    BACK PAIN

    Unbinds chest Benefits breast,promotes lactation

Unbinds the chest Benefits the breast and promoteslactation Pain and swelling in the scapula and

    shoulder

    Breast problems Mastitis Insufficient lactation

Good point for breast problems, mastitis, insufficientlactation, breast pain. May reflect the breast like afront-mu point area, palpate entire infrascapular fossafor tenderness, upper fossa reflects upper breast (ST16area), lower fossa reflects lower breast (ST18 area),medial and lateral also correspond. Massage or needletender areas, combine with other breast points such asSI1, SI3, PC6, PC8, ST16, ST18, ST36, CV17.

IP for shoulder and upper back pain and stiffness.Releasing the infraspinatus muscle is very good forneck pain, perhaps by allowing the scapula to movemore freely into adduction, thereby relaxing tension onthe trapezius, rhomboids, and levator scapula.

**SI12 Center of suprascapularfossa directly above SI 11

    (NOT on the diagonal)

Benefits shoulder Scapula, shoulder, upper limb painor numbness

Supraspinatus tendinitis IP for tension in the trapezius and supraspinatus

muscles. A supraspinatus trigger point lies under thispoint, deep to the upper trapezius, which refers to thelateral aspect of the shoulder and elbow.

Good wind point, used locally or for wandering bi ofthe upper limb (pain that moves around).

    **SI13

In depression superior tomedial end of scapularspine.

    SHOULDER& SCAPULA

Relaxes soft tissue Upper back and scapular pain Trapezius muscle spasm w/neck

pain Helps release the supraspinatus, levator scapula and

middle trapezius muscles and is excellent for relaxingthe neck, shoulders and upper back. Palpate and treattender points in this area.

    LOCAL WIND POINT

Disperses wind, alleviates pain Facial paralysis Eye twitching

Toothache (upper jaw) Used locally for facial disorders from external or

    ANY EAR PROBLEM

    IP FOR JAW ISSUES

    Opens ear, benefitshearing

Alleviates pain Tinnitus Deafness External ear canal inflammation TMJ pain and inflammation Motor impairment of mandibular

    joint

Any ear problem: inflammation, tinnitus, hearing loss. This is the central point of three local ear points: fromsuperior to inferior TW21, SI19, GB2 (higher point, higher number)

Important local point for jaw problems, TMJ disorders, combine with local and distal points, GB3, ST7, ST6,TW5, TW3, SI3, etc. Good for toothache with pain

    radiating up to the ear.
