We will use these sound rules whilst filming in order to ensure that the quality and sound levels are properly set. Furthermore, we have decided to keep audio running on cameras in case of any issues, which would avoid a possibility of losing sound. This is, however, only a back up and we will follow these rules to ensure that it stays as a back up.

When in the editing process we will use our ‘b-roll’ footage in order to cutaway from the interview to related shots. For example, we wish to bring some of Professor Gauntlett’s books which we will cut away to when he gets involved with his theory.

When interviewing, we will strive to engage with our interviewee’s, perhaps off camera and respond and ask further questions in order to stimulate the discussion. We will furthermore respond positively with both verbal and non-verbal feedback – non verbal feedback is a particuarly important skill as it allows us to communicate without risking talking over the interviewee.

Setting up lighting is a key element, as this will make our production look professional. Furthermore it will allow the cameras to pick up facial expressions more easily. In order to create the perfect lighting, we will place one light at an acute angle to the background, whilst soft boxing another light further away from the subject of the interview.
