ROWBERRY ONSStarted family history research in late 1976
Direct line in Bristol back to my 3 x great-grandfather George RUBERY
Family story said that he came from Birmingham and was related to the RUBERYs who had founded the engineering firm Rubery, Owen & Co
Despite extensive searching no link found – but a large family tree built up for them

His Army records gave his date and place of birth – 1773 in Hereford
He was baptised there in 1773 as a ROWBERRY

The ROWBERRY ONS yDNA Project
The ROWBERRY One-Name Study yDNA Project started in Nov 2006
Project website set up on the FTDNA website – note and link on home page of the RONS website
RONS Family Gathering in April 2008 - notification of the Project was sent with invitations to attend
First test was taken by my first cousin Peter RUBERY (free kit)
18 tests so far, all by volunteers – 8 part paid, 2 paid kits
Donations to Project General Fund very helpful
BUT some very interesting results...

ROWBERRY Tree One extract to show relationship of tests
The first volunteers “shut the chain” by resolving what were the “weakest links” on the documented tree

ROWBERRY Tree Five extract to show relationship of tests
Again the first three two tests “shut the chain” by resolving the “weakest link” on the documented tree, and the third showed that there is another link still to be forged in the paper trail Polly Rubery © 2011

ROWBERRY Tree Two and RUBERRY of Cornwall extracts
The r2 tree has a well-documented tree back to the mid-1600s in the parish of Leigh, WOR
The rubcon tree has a well-documented tree back to the mid-1600s in Cornwall
Where did these two trees originate?
A possibility is GLS!
