Shuida Islam

First I got the picture and added a filter called emboss. Then edited how much radius I wanted on it. I chose this effect because it goes with our genre Rock.My research on rock magazine adverts helped because Rock bands are often in a dark setting so I wanted to do a similar effect.

I then adjusted the brightness and contrast on the picture because I wanted the image to be dark but not too much because it’s important that the Bands faces stand out so it can appeal to the audience more.


This is the hue and saturation part where I wanted the image to look more older and rough.


The next part was to add the font and this was important as it had to go with the bands image. I used the font called ‘aparajita’.


It’s important that the bands name stands out to the audience so they know exactly what the magazine advert is trying to sell to them.


In this one I edited the font to make it go with the scene more. I decide to go for gold/brown/bronze because it makes it look more like a rock band. And stands out more that the image itself. Rock bands often try to sell their music more rather than their image.


In this screen shot I was editing the font more by adding shadows and including shadow overlay/gradient overlay etc. This allowed me to make the font look more gloomy.


Here I stared adding the other parts of the text and it’s important to stick to one type of text because that way it wont be all over the place. I kept the colour similar to each other so the advert looks more appealing.


Here I just added shadows to the text to make it look more 3D.


Its important to position the text correctly so the audience know what it’s about.


I then had to get the company logos that help advertise more about the band. Such as websites and social networks. It’s important to do this because it helps sells the album more to a larger audience. Here I has to do it on a separate page and then use the lasso tool to select the edges without getting the white edges in.


Here I finished getting the rest of the logos to make it look like a real music magazine advert. So that way the fans/public know where to get more information on the band.


Many magazine adverts have quotes from other companies that have listened to the album and often put it on the magazine advert to show that it’s got a high rating. Here I got a picture of five stars and then erased the white background.
