Sathya Sai Baba is a highly revered spiritual leader and world teacher, whose life and message are inspiring millions of people throughout the world to turn God-ward and to lead more purposeful and moral lives. His timeless and universal teachings, along with the manner in which he leads his own life, are attracting seekers of Truth from all the religions of the world. Motivated by the desire to serve humanity, doctors, nurses, and workers in the hospital render extraordinary, compassionate, and loving care to all patients.Sathya Sai Baba initiated a project to provide an adequate supply of pure water to 1.5 million inhabitants of the State of Andhra Pradesh (India) who were living in drought conditions. The Prime Minister of India traveled to Prasanthi Nilayam (Sathya Sai Baba's main ashram) in order to inaugurate the project. CHILDHOOD DAYS
Born on 23rd Nov 1926 in Puttaparthi village to Eswaramma and Peddavenkama Raju Ratnakaram.
Earlier was known by the name of Sathyanarayan Raju.
As a child, was known to be “unusually intelligent” and charitable.
Exceptionally talented in drama, music, dance and writing, and was an avid composer of poems and plays.
REINCARNATION OF SAI BABA
On 8 March 1940, while living with his elder brother Seshama Raju in Uravakonda, Sathya was apparently stung by a scorpion.
He lost consciousness for several hours. Within the next few days there was a noticeable change in Sathya's behavior.
There were "symptoms of laughing and weeping, eloquence and silence.“
He began to sing Sanskrit verses, a language of which he had no prior knowledge.”Doctors believed his behavior to be hysteria.
On 23 May 1940, Sathya called household members and reportedly materialised “prasad” and flowers for his family members.
His father became furious at seeing this, thinking his son was bewitched. He took a stick and asked him who he was. To this Sathya announced calmly and firmly "I am Sai Baba", a reference to Sai Baba of Shirdi.
He proclaimed himself to be a reincarnation of Sai Baba of Shirdi—a saint who died eight years before Sathya was born.

DEATH OF SHREE SATHYA SAI BABA
In 1963 Sathya Sai Baba suffered a stroke and four severe heart attacks.
In a 1993 incident, four intruders armed with knives entered baba’s bedroom, either as an assassination attempt or as part of a power struggle between his followers. Sai Baba escaped unharmed.
After 2005, Sai Baba used a wheelchair and his failing health forced him to make fewer public appearances
In 2006, he suffered a fractured hip when a student standing on an iron stool slipped, and both the boy and stool fell on him.
On 28 March 2011, Sathya Sai Baba was admitted to the Sri Sathya Sai Super Speciality Hospital at Prashantigram at Puttaparthi, following respiration-related problems. After nearly a month of hospitalisation, during which his condition progressively deteriorated, Sai Baba died on 24 April at 7:40 IST, aged 84.

His body lay in state for two days, after which it was buried on 27 April 2011.
