PVC - Polyvinyl ChloridePVC is a fully waterproof fabric which is both soft and strong. Designs featuring a clear background are generally printed on a PVC base sheet as this

effect can easily be achieved using this material.

Phthalate Free PVC - Phthalate Free Polyvinyl ChloridePhthalates are chemicals that may be added to PVC as plasticisers. They may be harmful to

people and to the environment. Phthalate free PVC does not contain phthalate plasticisers.

Note: Croydex are committed to reducing the impact that our manufacturing processes and products have on the environment. As part of this commitment we will be moving away from the use of PVC during 2012 for our shower curtains. This means that those shower curtains which are currently manufactured from this material will eventually be manufactured from PEVA and EVA. This change is part of an ongoing programme and your Croydex representative will update you when this change is ready to be implemented.

EVA - Ethylene Vinyl AcetateEVA is a fully waterproof fabric which has a more tactile feel than PVC. However, it is not possible to achieve a clear base sheet with this fabric so

the background of designs printed on EVA tend to have a more opaque affect.

PEVA - Polyethylene Vinyl AcetatePEVA is a fully waterproof material that has a soft, “fabric like” texture. PEVA has to be Corona treated before it can be printed on making it one of

the more expensive vinyl materials.

Shower CurtainsOur comprehensive range of shower curtains includes products made from a number of different materials. The material used to manufacture a shower curtain can affect how it looks and feels, the service you can expect it to provide and how it should be cared for.

So that you can choose the curtain that is best suited to your needs and care for it in a way that will ensure it always looks as good as the day it was first hung, the following information may be useful.

Textile shower curtains are water-resistant. The 100% polyester fabric is made water-resistant by the addition of an acrylic coating that we call Proseal®. The sides, top and bottom of our textile curtains are neatly hemmed and the bottom hem includes a weight to ensure that the curtain hangs straight and does not cling to the user when wet. The eyelets are reinforced with a corrosion-resistant metal to give a smart finish. All textile curtains can be machine washed at 40ºC and pressed with a cool iron.

Our range of “Textile” shower curtains are all manufactured from 100% polyester and they can broadly be divided into the following headings:

Plain and Patterned Fabric With their water-resistant Proseal® coating, all plain and printed shower curtains from Croydex are 100% polyester and create an effective water-resistant

barrier in the bath or shower. A made-to-measure service is available on selected plain curtains providing a variety of sizes made to order.

Waffle FabricThese curtains are a woven fabric with a waffle-like texture. The waffle material is used for decorative purposes and hangs outside of the bath or shower

area. You will need to buy a separate vinyl or textile liner curtain to sit inside the bath to ensure that water stays inside the showering area and doesn’t leak on to the bathroom floor.

HooklessOur hookless shower curtains are made from 100% polyester fabric and come complete with twelve heavy duty split plastic eyelets for fast and

easy installation, so there is no need to buy separate shower curtain hooks.

Vinyl shower curtains are 100% waterproof. The sides and bottom of all our vinyl curtains are cut rather than sewn and the eyelets are welded. As these curtains are made from plastic they can be wiped clean with a damp cloth and hung out to dry; they cannot be machine washed, dry-cleaned, tumble dried or ironed.
