Description of TIP TIG Process:

With the semi-automatic or automated TIP TIG process, the constant fed weld wire is superimposed by a secondary high-speed oscillation which is generated by the patent pending TIP TIG, four-roll mechanized drive plate. The TIP TIG wire feed mechanical action creates a vibration on the weld wire. The vibration passes through the weld wire into the weld "agitating the molten TIG weld pool". This induces a dynamic onto the wire in the form of a vibration which when introduced to the molten weld pool destroys the surface tension. This gives better fusion, allows impurities and gases to escape and improves wetting resulting in higher deposition. With the TIP TIG process, Hot Wire current is added to the agitated weld pool. The increased TIP TIG wire feed rates enables a higher than normal TIG welding current. The increased TIP TIG arc weld energy and disruption of the TIG weld surface creates unique TIG weld dynamics. The change to the TIP TIG weld pool slows down the weld solidification and enlarges the fluid TIG weld area enabling a typical 100 to 300% increase in TIG wire feed rates. These attributes enables a TIG weld quality and productivity that was never before possible with other processes. Only TIP TIG provides: A unique, patent pending Wire Feeder that agitates the TIG weld. A Hot Wire Power Source that adds energy to the TIG weld. A unique patented Torch that communicates with the weld equipment. A 350 - 450 amp, TIG Power Source that has the capability to communicate with the

peripheral TIP TIG equipment.

The unique TIP TIG process changes many of the traditional weld rules, the weld practices and alloy weld application considerations that for decades have typically been applied to the regular, slow TIG process. The TIP TIG process allows a dramatic increase in TIG wire feed rates which enables the use of higher TIG weld current which makes much faster manual and automated, all position TIG weld travel rates possible. The increased TIP TIG weld travel rates when combined with Electrode Negative, enables rapid weld heat dissipation in the parts welded which is the reason all alloys benefit from the TIP TIG Process. In contrast to any other weld process, TIP TIG always enables the highest weld quality with the lowest possible heat input .

For those weld shops that are concerned with weld fumes and the weld costs associated with grinding and cleaning alloy welds, the TIP TIG process inherently possesses the lowest weld oxidation potential, enabling it to produce the cleanest possible welds with the lowest possible weld fumes. In contrast to regular TIG, Hot Wire TIG, Pulsed MIG, Plasma and Flux Cored, the TIP TIG process while providing the lowest weld heat with the highest weld quality will also provide the lowest weld defect potential. When you combine the optimum TIP TIG weld quality with the lowest weld heat potential, the result is defect free welds on code quality weld applications and the weld process solution to every metallurgical weld concern.

Least Potential for Lack of Weld Fusion and Porosity: Due to the higher TIG weld current, (higher weld energy) and the unique, "agitated weld pool”, the TIP TIG welds will always provide superior TIG weld fusion when compared to regular TIG and the automated Hot Wire TIG proceses . IP TIG is the process that provides the lowest possible weld oxidation from the faster weld speeds combined with electrode negative and an inert gas resulting in the cleanest possible welds. These welds will have the lowest weld porosity-inclusion defects. When dealing with welding sluggish alloys such as Duplex - Inconel - Invar - Stainless and high carbon steel applications the increased energy and agitated weld pool of TIP TIG dramatically reduces concern with the fusion and porosity issues of these materials.

TIP TIG always attains the highest weld quality with the best possible metallurgical properties. Tip Tig is the only manual - auto process capable of consistently producing zero weld rework and the consequences of which are real production cost savings.

Carbon alloy weld tested: Any Random sections taken through the welds revealed sound material with good side-wall fusion and penetration. The weld displayed a fairly homogenous microstructure consisting of fine grains similar to that of the base material.
