Task: Using what you have learned about short stories, write a short story.
GUIDELINES You must write a short story of 500-700 words with a partner. It must have a creative title. It must be based on a specific message you would like to tell the reader. It can include useful dialogue. It must include at least one type of conflict (internal or external conflict). It must have two of the following techniques: flashback, foreshadowing,
suspense, symbolism, simile, metaphor, personification, stereotypes. It must have descriptive writing using 3 of the 5 senses.

PLAN1. With your partner, create a plot graph representing your short
story. Do not forget to use your brainstorm sheet to help you develop your ideas.
2. Using a post-it, tell me where you will use the senses to enhance imagery (use at least 3 out of the 5 senses). Incorporate your post-it on your plot graph.
