THE VISION OF THE DOWNTOWN Westfield Corporation (DWC) is for Westfield to be a preferred destina-tion where people want to live, work, and visit.

A New Jersey Main Street Community, DWC is dedicated to promoting Downtown Westfield as a preferred destination.

DWC is committed to strengthening the downtown Special Improvement District as the center of community life.

This includes improving the District’s economic viability by supporting existing businesses and encouraging the establishment of new enterprises and cultural activ-ities that complement existing stores and services.

DWC will focus on making Downtown Westfield a safer, cleaner, and more attractive pedestrian envi-ronment, with adequate public park-ing in order to serve the needs of local residents and attract new shoppers and visitors from throughout the region. It is also the goal of DWC to preserve the rich architectural legacy of the downtown area.

DWC is both the management entity of the Special Improvement District as well as a nationally designated Main Street Community.

The four points of a designated Main Street community includes Design, Eco-nomic Development, Organization, and Promotions. Through their downtown revitalization efforts, Westfield was awarded the 2004 Great American Main Street Award by the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Main Street Center and the 2010 American in Bloom awards.

She continues, “The mouth has some-times been called the gateway to the rest of your body. That means problems found in the mouth could help detect bigger problems elsewhere in your body. ”

Dr. Feret, who received a bachelor’s degree from Seton Hall University in South Orange and his dental degree from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, has been practicing and living in Westfield since 1973.

His goal is to make a den-tal visit painless and effective — so he can determine the condition of your teeth and you want to come back.

“I’ve done very well in my practice and in my life,” Dr.

Feret said. “I’ve tried to help people in my practice, but sometimes you need to do more. Offering some free dental services is my way of saying thank you.”

With that, we have created “The Chicken Soup Project,” a commu-nity volunteer effort that ensures our patients and their families receive homemade chicken soup to help warm their souls during this difficult time. Other volunteers deliver many kinds of nonmedical support to the patient and family to help wrap them in the loving comfort of our “Stein Hospice Advantage.”

Stein Hospice prides itself on the bereavement support we provide for families of our patients. As long as the family needs support, we are avail-able. Our beautiful annual memorial service serves as a testament to loved ones lost during the year.
