How To Install Shop by Brand Names Extension?
You can download the extension archive from 'My Account' section at iKantam store - check under 'My Downloadable Products'. To install the extension please follow these steps:
• First, you need to log in to the Magento administrator area. Then go to System -> Magento Connect -> Magento Connect Manager.
• A new page will open for the Magento Connect Manager and you will be asked to provide your administrative credentials again. These are security measures, please log in using your admin access.

• Once logged in you will see 2 sections: Extensions and Settings. It is recommended to verify the options chosen in the Settings section first. In the Settings section there are several options you can configure, but leaving the default values is recommended.
• Go to Extensions section, find the tab “Direct package file upload” and upload the archive that you’ve received from us to magento. That’s it - you’ve installed the extension.
• Don’t forget to go to the admin area > System > Cache Management, click 'Select All', choose 'Refresh' option in the dropdown and click 'Submit' button.
Important Note: After you are done with the extension installation, Logout from the Magento administrator area. After your next log in you’ll be able to use all the extension functionality.

Follow these steps:
• First, you need to log in to the Magento administrator area. Then go to System -> Magento Connect -> Magento Connect Manager.
• At the bottom of the Extensions section find the list of all installed extensions. Find 'Shop by Brand Names' extension. In the Action dropdown select 'Uninstall' and click 'Commit Changes'

To manage the extension log in to the Magento administrator area: Catalog->Manage Brands.
Here you will find the extension options:
General settings tab:
• Name – Brand name (required field).
• Description – Brand description (required field).
• Status – parameter enables/disables brand (enabled brand will appear on frontend etc).
• Featured – parameter sets brands to featured or not featured type. Featured -yes/no (‘no’ - is a default meaning).
• Image – this option allows uploading brand logos.
SEO settings tab (Tab allows indicating product meta-data such as: Meta Title, Meta Description, Meta Keywords to optimize brands page for search engines.):
