Located on the UAE’s northern coast-line, Dubai has an abundance of sandy beaches ranging from mainland to island, private to public and bustling to secluded. Humidity and temperature levels are at their most comfortable between October

and May and hover pleasantly around the low 30°Cs throughout. There are on aver-age 12 hours of day light stretching from about 6am to 6pm. Also along the coast is Dubai Marina, a spectacular 3.5km man-made canal which runs parallel to the sea.

TRADITIONAL SOUKS &FORTS

Dubai souks are ideal for a location shoot with their aura of old world romance reminiscent of the once thriving goods industry. Housed on the banks of the creek these historic markets are still a centre for local spice, gold and textile trade and are filled with local personalities go-ing about their business. Also to be found in the downtown heritage area are sophisticated arabic houses with rough walls and wind tow-ers, the last to be found this side of the gulf.

PERMITS

Shooting permits are easy to obtain but can take 5-10 days to process depending on the location chosen.

EQUIPEMENT

A full range of flash lighting, constant lighting, acces-sories, monitors, grips, textiles, batteries and gen-erators etc is available for hire locally. It is important to note however that only Profoto flash systems are stocked in the region.
