We are excited about the shul celebratory special event, that’s not being called a banquet, and there are many people involved in making it a success. All the planning, all the meetings and phone calls, all the logistics, are all being done in the hopes of providing all of us with an entertaining evening. We are hoping for a generous response from all our members. We have a special group of honorees, as if in other years we didn’t, and each of us have something to do with some or all of them. The contributions of our honorees are too extensive to be told, in the space of this message. I have had the privilege of working alongside the Kossman/Bernstein/ Weichbrod families for many years, and their volunteerism, their dedication, their support and their hours of sacrifice, make them very deserving recipients of this honor. I have sat alongside them as the shul struggled through its financial woes, as they worked on fundraising campaigns, and I have held garbage bags with them as they have volunteered to set up and clean up at shul functions. There are so many things that they step up to do, without anyone knowing about it. The Sklares have been a part of the shul for many years, and their Torah dissemination, especially R’ Yonah, have given many of us a whole new perspective at how we look at a parsha or yom tov. On Shabbos, for safety reasons, you may shovel and salt the walking path from your house to the street, but the sidewalk and driveway should not be cleared until after Shabbos (unless a specific situation presents a hazard). As important as it is to daven with a minyan, please do not take any unnecessary chances to get to shul this weekend. Message from The President

Since we got nowhere to go, let it snow let it snow, let it snow. I’m writing this on Wednesday morning, so I’m taking a chance with that opening line.

By this time, I hope all of you have received your invitations to the shul celebratory special event, that’s not being called a banquet. The title of the event is quite long, but it doesn’t take away from its purpose.

I have had the privilege of working alongside the Kossman/Bernstein/Weichbrod families for many years, and their volunteerism, their dedication, their support and their hours of sacrifice, make them very deserving recipients of this honor.

They are a unique couple, who bring an added dimension to the makeup of our shul.

Sima Greenblatt and Ariana Schwartz have been amazing group leaders for our kids, and represent who you would want to lead them on a Shabbos morning. The success of our youth programs are due in large part to the high quality group leaders that we have every Shabbos.

I encourage you all to RSVP for the celebratory event, which sounds like a car sale, by clicking here. I am curious how many people are pushing down on the paper to make their reservations.

Enjoy the snow, and have a great Shabbos,

Chaim

Mazel Tov Werner Cohen on the birth of a great-grandson, born to Ezra and

Rabbi Marwick will be giving a shiur for men age 25-35+ on Monday February 8 at the home of Natan and Leah Berry. The topic is: The Balance between Bitachon and Hishtadlus.

Time: 8:30- 10:00 Location: 6520 Gardenwick Rd.
