DISCUSSION
In order to produce a new product without facing big problem in designing and fabrication
process, we have to construct an early planning. A part of the planning is the method to
implement before, during and after the process.
There is a shear force and a bending moment acting along the length of a beam experiencing a
transverse load. This normal stress often dominates the design criteria for beam strength, but as
beams become short and thick, a transverse shear stress becomes dominate. Bending can induce
both a normal stress and a transverse shear stress. The magnitude of the shear stress becomes
important when designing beams in bending that are thick or short beams can and will fail in
shear while bending. To calculate the transverse shear stress we use the applied shear force
which can be obtained from a shear!moment diagram", the first moment of area and thickness ofthe region of interest, and the second moment of area of the entire structure. The difficulty with
these problems typically emerges while deciding what the region of interestis in a particular
problem, and properly calculating Qfor this region.
The results of the numerical analysis for the combined stresses of #oints revealed that the average
compression stress values at the outer edge of the #oints were significantly higher than those of
tension stress at the inner edge of the #oints. $ailures occurred at the inner edges of the #oints
where was under tension stress. The high values of the compression stresses at the outer edge ofthe #oints caused a destructive non!elastic deformation in the vertical and hori%ontal elements of
the #oints so that these elements were pressed together at the outer corner of the #oints. &owever,
as these two parts of #oints almost always support each other under heavily load' they were
sub#ected for only some compressions deformations. The average values of combined stresses for
the #oints with beech members were higher than those of #oints with members made of other
wood species. $urthermore, as descripted, the bending strength of the #oints greater than that of
the #oints with beech wood spline, as a result, the combined stresses that occurred at the #oints
with plywood spline were also greater than those of #oints with beech wood splines
