When a major disaster such as an earthquake strikes, it becomes hard to connect via telephone for several days as everyone is calling their
friends and family at the same time. To help alleviate this situation, NTT provides an Emergency Message Service, which can be used to leave
a message for friends and family or to hear messages from others. The length of one message must be 30 seconds or less. It will be saved for
48 hours from when it is first recorded. You can save up to 10 messages from the same phone number.

Press 1. Press 2.
Enter your phone number. Enter the other person’s phone number.
Leave a message. Make sure it’s less than 30 seconds. Listen to their message.
You can try using the service at various points throughout the year, such as:The 1st and 15th of every month, from
midnight to midnight.Midnight of January 1st through Midnight of January 3rd. During Disaster Readiness Week, from 9:00 a.m. on August 30th
through 5:00 p.m. on September 5th. During Disaster Readiness and Volunteer Week, from 9:00 a.m. on January 15th through 5:00 p.m. on
January 21st.

[Event/Sports] Akiwa Shrine Fire Festival

The traditional festival, in which a huge bon-
fire is set alight. Once the flames have died
down, people walk barefoot over the still hot
ashes whih are said to protect the family
against ill-health and ill-fortune in the follow-
ing year. Date: December 15th, 16th.
