Container Ship Types
Container ships can be categorized according to their TEU capacity and hull dimensions as:

Post-Suez-Max
Naznake razvoja kontejnerskih brodova kazuju da bi u narednih 5 godina Post-Suez-max (ULCS) biti veći
od 18,000 TEU sa širinom od 60 metara i maksimalnim gazom broda od 21m. Ova veličina brodova biti
će klasificirana kao post-Suezmax brodovi, je poprečni presjek broda jako velik za sadašnje dimenzije Suez
Canal-a. Smatra se da će prijevozna cijena po jedinici kontejnera za ovako velike brodove biti oko 30%
niža nego kod tipičnih kontejnerskih brodova kapaciteta 5,000-6,000 TEU.
Post-Malacca-Max
Činjenica je da bi Malacca-max kontejnerski brodovi imali maksimalno dozvoljeni gaz od 21 m za
plovidbu kroz Malacca Strait.
Sa planiranim proširenjem širine i dubine Suez Canal-a u narednih deset godina, kontejnerski brodovi
kapaciteta 18,000 TEU također će moći prolaziti Suez Canal-om. S druge strane, budući kontejnerski
brodovi sa gazom od 21 m zahtijevati će od luka u koje bi trebali uplovljavati njihovo produbljenje. Danas
su samo luke Singapore i Rotterdam dovoljno duboke da bi mogli primiti ovakve brodove.
