Located in the southern part of Giurgiu City – Romania, Shipyard ATG Giurgiu has direct access to the Danube River, which offers the perfect environment for constructing and launching ships with, including repairs for both inland and sea-going vessels. The navigable Danube-Black Sea Channel helps goods and products transportation from Black Sea to other European countries located along Danube, but also access to the North Sea through Danube-Rheine Main Channel.The Shipyard has a steel manufacturing capacity of up to 600 / 700 tones per month, approximate 10.000, tones of steel per year and a capacity of 1.500 tones of aluminium per year.From 2002 till now, ATG has delivered over 70 (self propelled and non propelled) vessels “Casco” or “Turn-key” worldwide, as follow: Cement carrier; Tankers type C and N; Fishing Vessels; Barges; RO-RO Barges; Pushers; Heavy Loading Carrier/ Dock; Port Container Barges, Hooper Barges; Floating Stations for Oil transfer; Multipurpose Ecological Vessels; Sea-going Combi Freighter Vessels etc, but also repair works (hull structure, piping, locksmiths, carpentry, electrical, painting, etc.) including two passenger vessels completely refurbished.Shipbuilding technologies include procedures like: lathing,

mechanical cutting, rectification, drilling, steel bending, oxy-gas plasma cutting with central process unit command, MIG-MAG welding equipment, dying, dishing, rolling, profile bending, sandblasting, painting and others. The shipyard is equipped with a vertical transfer equipment “ syncrolift ”. The equipment is endowed with a mobile platform, driven by a hydraulic system working in phases, which assures a safety launching and docking platform. The platform was design and built for maritime and naval ships, having the following maximum features:

• Length: 110 meters; • Width: 17, 5 meters; • Weight: 3.000 tons;

The Ships are transferred from the assembly hull through a transfer railway system, which has a surface of 114.793 square meters.Shipyard ATG Giurgiu is working in accordance with ship class rules BUREAU VERITAS, GERMANISCHER LLOYD and LLOYD REGISTER, the ruling environmental requirements under ISO 14001, standard, quality management system under ISO 9001,

A SHIPYARD WITH HISTORY According to official registrations kept in the collective memory of the ex-workers from Giurgiu Shipyard, the first workshop was built in 1897. In the first monograph of Giurgiu City, in was mentioned, that the Shipyard “was made” in 1910, for “ship repairs”.If in the beginning, the shipyard was a small workshop for the few available boats on Danube. In 1973 the shipyard knows its first stage for developing and modernizing for the existing facilities, but also investing in new production facilities and halls with all the necessary equipment for building new ships. The shipyard area has been extend to 280.000 square meters.During 1979-1980, the shipyard met a new phase of development and modernization due to an increase demand in production of ships but also repairs of the older existing ones. The ships body assembly room is endowed with a LOGATOME reel equipment, used for semiautomatic welding and for the ships outfit, there were built

assembly rooms with electrical workshops, piping, ironware and carpentry, all endowed with modern manufacturing equipment.The most important facility was built in 1985, which is the vertical transfer equipment called the syncrolift.. The platform was design and built for maritime and naval ships.During this period there were build different types of vessels, some fully equipped such as: Pushers 2*300 HP, 2*800 HP; Floating pumping stations; Floating cranes; Technical ship such as: Dredges and Split barges, but also CASCO hull such as Fishing vessel, Maritime coastal vessel, Port container ships, etc.After 1989 the shipyard is going into a severe economic crisis, due to political and economical conjunctures. In 1996 the administration of the company changes and in 1998 the new administration declared bankruptcy. With the founding of Giurgiu Free Zone, the shipyard was divided and sold to various investors. The investors used the shipyard facilities as storage space for materials and finished products.Between 1999 and 2001 there have been two attempts to restart the shipyard but both have failed. Until April2002 the shipbuilding

production has been completely stopped.In May 2002, a Romanian investor buys the assembly halls, the railing transfer area of the ships and the syncrolift platform for launching and docking the ships, with 100% Romanian private capital, being renamed Shipyard ATG Giurgiu.In 2002, after taking over the former facilities of Giurgiu shipyard, with perseverance and high financial efforts the management succeeded in finding solutions in order to start the production gradually, the former facilities of the shipyard were completely damaged, incomplete or partial destroyed.

In the first period of 2003, started the repairing process of the ship departments, hulls and buildings for the new production facilities in order to build/delivery inland and sea-going vessel at "CASCO” or “Turn-key” level but also raising the ship repairing activity. From 2002 till now, the management invested over 7 (seven) million Euros in high-tech equipment and modern development.

MULTIPURPOSE SELF PROPELLED ECOLOGICAL VESSEL

The Ships are constructed and equipped in accordance with the society of classification and the rules Bureau VERITAS (BV) – “Inland Navigation Rules – 2009” for this type of ship, classifications with the society of Classification and the ADN Norms (European norms for the ownership and transportation of Volatile produces) for the “tanker/double hull/bilge-boat”, rules/ regulations in the Romanian Naval Authority code.

The ships are designed for inland waterways navigation, self-propelled with onboard crew and fully equipped with the necessary technical systems for the intervention in case of possible pollution of inland waters with oil/chemical products (collecting solid and fluid residue from the water's surface and/ or from other ships).

SELF PROPELLED TANKER APOLLONThe vessel was designed for inland navigation using Shipyard ATG project team. The midship area is built with double bottom and double shell. The structural cargo tanks were painted with special paint system which complies for chemical and white oil products

under close surveillance of International Paint supervisors.All the naval engineers and workers involved in this project were Shipyard ATG Giurgiu employees.

SELF PROPELLED TANKER THIERY MThe vessel was designed for inland navigation based on Shipyard ATG team project, built with double bottom and double shell, as per ADN requirements' to transport chemical and oil products inside steel structural tanks.The vessel is design with a special cargo piping network for loading-

unloading oil/chemical type N/C products. The tanker was built/completed “turn-key” for CFT- Compagnie Fluviale de Transport (Mahieu SA), one of our close collaborators for whom we built over 20 vessels since 2006.

ships with a wide range of designs that meet the class/ authorities requirements.The company's organization ensures a decisional chain, an informational current and an efficient coordination for all the departments in the company, creating the premises of increase in the production process.The Design Department is able to take different challenges, having a close collaboration with the ship class societies and naval national authorities for the newest requirements and future rules. Shipyard ATG Giurgiu is ready to provide the technical know-how and in-depth expertise needed to develop new designs for existing vessels (ship conversion, ship update as per rules for piping/electrical systems, complete refurbishments, modification etc).Recently the administration approved the renovation project for the existing ship launching/ docking platform, in order to increase the ship lifting capacity above 3.000 tons. (syncro-lift platform: length: 100m, width:18m).During this period the shipyard is able to continue its ship

repairing works and build the smaller vessels which sustain the shipyard activity for many years, but also to build new types of medium size vessels including sea-going ships up to 5.000 tdw..In the next 15 years, in the Danube waterways are over 1.500 vessels to be considered. Necessary ships for river maintenance (dredges, pushers, heavy load floating structure, cranes etc), type N or C tankers/ barges with double side/ bottom as per AND rules requirements, LNG carriers (with/ without own propulsion), need to be repair and/or renewed.With a very good shipbuilding activity inside Europe, and the market in the rest of the world being approximately the same size, Shipyard ATG Giurgiu believes in ship-owners interest to invest in this area due to our quality, efficiency and timely delivery that we offer.
