Saying “Made in Nepal” means the world to us—socially, economically and environmentally. Because we are Sherpa-owned and Sherpa-run, we are very pleased to report that most of our products come directly from Kathmandu. And when we go to our neighbors for help in meeting demand, we always do it with the highest quality control and share the news right on the label.

Ang Phurba Sherpa’s father was a mail runner for the British Everest expeditions in the 1950s. Now, after a lifetime in the Khumbu and many trips to the summit, Ang wisely guides our flagship store in Kathmandu.

The first thing a Sherpa packs is mindfulness.

At the start of every journey, we sit quietly and picture the path ahead. Slowly and methodically, we envision the terrain we will encounter and the extremes we will need to endure. This tells us what to pack—and what we don’t need to carry. In preparing for Spring and Summer 2013, we’ve grouped our garments into five categories. Karma Lifestyle is for casual ease in going about your daily life. Khumbu Trek serves nicely for days of lighter travel. Himal Training is for athletes who work at the highest levels. Finally, at the peak of performance, we offer the Parbat Mountain Series and elite Khangri Alpine Series. Whichever group you go with, we wish you good fortune each step of the way.

Athlete inspired, athlete driven, this line is designed by—and for—the alpinists who build their lives around climbing the world’s most challenging peaks. We regularly consult with our Sherpa athletes, and they tell us what they want, and more importantly, what they need for their climbs. The Resham is made of an ultra-light, 3-layer bonded fabric, and all seams are sealed throughout. It will shed water in a downpour, but it’s still breathable. When the wind kicks up, cinch the hem down via the left side adjuster. And if you or the temperature goes up, unzip the hand pockets—they’re lined in mesh. The hood adjusts around the face via interior pulls—there is nothing to slap tender skin in the headwind. A hidden adjuster at the back of the head reduces the hood’s volume.

This is Cool.

As I sit in Kathmandu, drinking tea and writing these words, an almost unbelievable reality

is staring me in the face. The Sherpa village is going global. A mere eight years ago, we had

simply hoped to convince a few US dealers to believe in our story. Now, one can find Sherpa

Adventure Gear in more than 20 countries. As of autumn 2012, that includes a mounting number

of stores in the UK, Scandinavia and mainland Europe — thanks to our new distributors,

Bradshaw Taylor. No face could better symbolize this journey than that of British mountaineer

Kenton Cool. Among his many adventures, Kenton has reached the summit of Mt. Everest ten

times, even doing it twice in one week. We’re honored that he has joined a growing circle of

Sherpa athletes to share our story as a brand ambassador. Naturally, the true heart of that story

continues to beat here in Nepal. This is, and always will be, where our products are created

with a care and passion akin to the warm, honest welcome one receives in a Sherpa home. In

Sherpa Adventure Gear takes great pride in the quality of its products. Our goal is to make superior gear that honors the legendary Sherpas who have built their reputation on being the toughest high-altitude climbers in the world. We have used their experience and input to make products that are truly outstanding.

Our products are fully warranted against defects in materials and workmanship. If for any reason a product should fail in its function due to a manufacturing defect, we will repair or replace the product at our discretion. Damages caused by accident, negligence, normal wear and tear or the natural deterioration of colors and materials over an extended period are not covered by this warranty. If the original owner wishes to have his product repaired for damages not covered by the warranty, we will do so for a reasonable fee if such repair is possible. Shipping costs will be charged. Our warranty only extends to the original owner of the product.

Products returned under warranty must be sent directly to Sherpa Adventure Gear Quality Assurance Department: Oakesdale, Commerce Center, Building W6, Suite D, 810 SW 34th Street, Renton, WA 98057. All shipments must be prepaid and insured. Sherpa Adventure Gear will not be liable for packages lost in transit.

HOW TO MEASURE: Measurements refer to body size, not garment dimensions, and are in inches, unless otherwise noted.

CHEST/BUST: Measure around the largest part of the chest or bust, under the arms and across shoulder blades.

NECK: Measure the largest portion of the neck circumference.
