TO AMEND SECTION 10.8 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF FRENCH SETTLEMENT, LOUISIANA, TO SET THE SALARY OF POLICE PERSONNEL. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE VILLAGE OF FRENCH SETTLEMENT, LOUISIANA:

Section 1. Section 10.8 of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of French Settlement, Louisiana is hereby amended to read as follows:

Section 10.8 Salary of Police Personnel

(a) Police Personnel Salary

(1) The salary for the Chief of Police, newly appointed as an interim and/or an elected position,

beginning January 2017 shall be $2200 per month. This amendment shall null and void all

previous amendments to set the Salary of a newly appointed or elected Chief of Police in Section

10.8 (a) 1 and 2 of Ordinance No. 2 of 1992 and all other previous years.

(2) Part (a-1) of this ordinance shall be effective January 12, 2017.

Said Ordinance having been introduced, notice of public hearing having been published, said

public hearing having been held, the title having been read and the Ordinance considered, on

motion by Alderman Miller, seconded by Alderman Carrier, to adopt Ordinance No. 3 of 2016, a

record vote was taken and the following result was had:

Whereupon, the presiding officer declared the above Ordinance duly adopted on January 12,
