At lower temperatures, Shell Rotella T6 5W-40 can help extend the life of your starter and battery, relative to using a 15W-40 viscosity-grade product. By reducing the amount of current needed by the starter to overcome dry friction in the engine, there is less harmful heat generated in the starter, and lower current draw on the battery. Shell Rotella T6 5W-40 will protect the durability of these important components better than a 15W-40 viscosity oil during harsh winter climates.

Shell Rotella T6 engine oils are suitable for use in many on- and off-highway heavy-duty applications. They are particularly effective in modern low-emission, heavy-duty engines, especially those with exhaust after-treatment devices operating in extreme hot and cold conditions.

Shell Rotella T6 exceeds the performance requirements of industry specifications such as API CJ-4, and is particularly recommended for vehicles fitted with diesel particulate filters (DPFs).
