Secret Harbour Beach Resort encourages you to relax and enjoy your

stay. Each condominium suite is privately owned and uniquely

furnished. Please let us know if something is damaged or is not

working properly so that we may fi x it promptly.

For your comfort, each room has ceiling fans and air con-ditioning units. The air conditioning is comfortable when the temperature is set to 72-75° F or 22-24° C. Adjustment is done using the remote control and/or the thermostat on the wall. When operating air conditioning all doors and win-dows must be closed. If you want to leave the patio doors open to enjoy the breeze and view, please turn off the AC.

Thank you in advance for being conscious about your energy and water usage. Both

are precious resources on our island. Energy costs in the USVI are typically fi ve times

higher than the continental United States. Please consider turning off lights and

other energy using items when not in your unit.

Daily HousekeepingEach day housekeeping will clean your condominium. Please call for early room make up service, extra linens, towels, blankets, toilet paper etc. A complimentary supply of coff ee and tea is provided for arrival. Cruzan Beach Club opens for coff ee at 8:00 am. Extra coff ee and tea may be purchased at the snack shop located at Aqua Action or a nearby grocery.

Each room is equipped with a safe that is operated using a code/combination that is set by the guest. If you need as-sistance in setting the code, please contact the front desk.

Beach Information

Secret Harbour Beach

This is the beach you’ve been dreaming of . . . soft sand, crystal clear

water, palm trees, calm swimming, snorkeling on a live coral reef,

and sunsets beyond compare. Enjoy the beach using comfortable

lounge chairs, fl uff y beach towels, umbrellas and hammocks. For

your convenience, cool drinks and beach side food service from

Cruzan Beach Club may be charged to your room.

Beach information: Secret Harbour’s beach has a mostly sandy bottom with a gradual in-cline for pleasant swimming, wading and snorkeling. The protected bay faces south allowing our beach to be calm most of the time as prevailing winds are from the East and North. The entire bay is also a designated marine sanctuary that is full of colorful sea life. Please help us take care of this protected treasure. Shells and coral are fun to look at and collect yet may not be removed from the property. It is against the law to take home shells, coral and things that originate in the Sea.

Beach Chairs, Umbrellas and Towels: Guests at Secret Harbour Beach Resort will be pro-vided with beach chairs and towels by Secret Harbour’s attentive beach attendants. NOTE: All beaches in the USVI must be open to the public however, non-resort guests may not use the chairs, hammocks, towels or umbrellas. Non-resort guests may rent chairs from Aqua Action to use on the beach directly in front of Aqua Action.

Beach Rules: Please enjoy the beach in a safe and responsible manner that is considerate of other guests. There is no lifeguard on duty so all swimming and activities are at your own risk. A swim platform with dual ladders is a short swim from the beach. On the far West end of the beach is a concrete pier that provides great photo opportunities. Diving and jumping from the pier is not allowed.

Please be mindful of the tropical sun. It is very strong and can burn even on hazy and over-cast days. We recommend wearing protective clothing and using an appropriate sunscreen. If you forgot sunscreen, it may be purchased at Aqua Action along with other sundry items such as insect repellent to prevent bites from mosquitoes and sand fl ies (locally known as “no-see-ums”).

Water Sport Activities/Rentals

Snorkeling: Half Day / Full Day $15/$20. (includes mask, fi ns and snorkel). All sizes are available - children & adult. Snorkelers can venture out from the shore to enjoy the vibrant sea creatures on Secret Harbour’s live coral reef – rated as one of the best places for snorkeling on the island. Also ask about guided night snorkeling and boat snorkeling trips.

Kayaks Single/Double: 1 hour $20/$30. Kayaks are one-person or two-person ocean-style vessels with paddle.

Paddle boats: 1 hour $30. Paddle boats may be operated by one person or two persons.

Stand-Up Paddle Boards (SUPs): 1 hour $30, Half day $65

Stand-Up Paddle Board Instruction: Private and group paddle board lessons are available through Bluewater Safaris. Their professional instructors will have you standing up and paddle boarding like a pro in no time. Instruction is by ap-pointment – please call (340) 774-9436.

Aqua Action Dive Center - One of the best water sport and dive shops

in the entire USVI is conveniently located at Secret Harbour Beach Re-

sort. Aqua Action is a short walk down the beach where you will fi nd

Scuba Diving

Shore dives take place at Secret Harbour Beach Resort. Boat dives leave from Secret Harbour Beach Resort with a selection of over 30 dive sites within a short distance of the resort. To ensure individualized attention, there is a maximum of six divers per dive guide. All dives are led by experienced PADI dive masters or instructors.

Certifi ed divers: For scuba divers with current diving credentials, we off er daily one-tank and two-tank boat dives that leave from Secret Harbour and head out to explore some of our beautiful St. Thomas and St. John reefs. If you brought your own equipment, we are happy to clean and store your scuba gear for the week. Nitrox diving is available for an extra $15 per tank. Please let us know in advance if you want to dive with Nitrox.

1. Shore Dive: $50 (includes all equipment). Explore the bountiful reefs of Secret Harbour bay. You will enjoy the tranquility of our clear, calm waters as you discover the

many creatures below the sea. No reservation is required for unguided shore dives. Note: guides are available for an additional $35 and do require a reservation.

2. One-tank Boat Dive: $95 (includes all equipment and dive master). Ideal for those guests who want to sleep in on vacation. This afternoon boat departs from Secret

Harbour Beach Resort at 1 p.m. on our 30-foot. Island Hopper Ocean Express boat. Snorkelers and riders are welcome to join us on this afternoon adventure.

Reservations are required.

3. Two-tank Boat Dive: $119 (includes all equipment and dive master). Explore our many fabulous reefs on our 30-foot. Island Hopper Ocean Express boat. We off er

individual attention to beginner and advanced divers. Departs from Secret Harbour Beach Resort daily at 9 a.m.. Check-in is at 8:30 a.m.. Reservations are required.

4. Night Diving, Rendezvous Diving, Handicapped Diving, Underwater Dive Weddings are also available: Ask for pricing and schedule.

5. Wreck Diving: Explore the underwater world of famous wrecks including Miss Opportunity, Cartanza Senora, The Kennedy and a series of Navy Barges.

Beginning Divers: If you are not a certifi ed scuba diver, but always dreamed of diving, we can schedule a Discover Scuba Diving session with one of our professional instructors. In just two hours you will be enjoying the amazing world under the surface.

1. Discover Scuba Diving (Beginners): $90 includes all equipment, instruction and a 35 minute reef dive.

2. Open Water Certifi cation: $400 (includes all equipment and can be completed in 2-3 days). PADI Certifi cations from beginner to professional are available.

to train beginners, SCUBA Diving Instructors, and the physically

Daily water sport excursions depart from the resort. Guests enjoy the

convenience of booking and departing on charter adventures from Secret

Harbour’s bay – literally in front of your room. Call or stop by Aqua

Ocean Express Snorkel Ad-

ventures on St. Thomas: This is a 3 1/2 hour tour to some of the most amaz-ing snorkel locations on St. Thomas. Your adventure begins when you walk out of your room to the beach and board the Ocean Express. We supply a trained guide, all snorkel equipment, bottled water and fresh fruit. Luxury Snorkel Adventures to St. John National Park beaches - This is a 4 hour snorkel and swimming tour to the US Virgin Island of St. John and its protected National Park beaches. This luxury adventure is aboard the Ocean Explorer - a 35 foot Intrepid vessel with on-board bathroom. The tour departs from the Secret Harbour beach and includes a continental breakfast, snacks throughout the morning, bottled water, soda, juice, beer, rum punch and all snorkel equipment. Virgin Island Explorations - Want to see more of the US Virgin Islands and British Virgin Islands (passport required), then join us on this newest addition to the Secret Harbour fl eet. You will spend the day exploring many islands in the Caribbean on this luxurious 35 ft. Intrepid with twin 250 engines. The Ocean Explorer off ers an air conditioned cabin, full size head (bathroom), plenty of sunning area and ample shaded seating. This is truly a great way to visit the beaches of the St. John National Park, the Baths of Virgin Gorda, the Caves of Norman Island, Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke, plus Water and Hassel islands of the USVI. The Jester is a 38-foot monohull sailing vessel with all the comfort you need for the day. Your day starts right in Secret Harbour’s bay when your captain picks you up on the beach and shuttles you out to the Jester for a great day

Wasabi is a beautifully restored 1981 Stiletto 27’ foot Catamaran providing day sails from Secret Harbour. Wasabi has a spacious cockpit and forward trampoline to accommodate up to six (6) passengers comfortably. This boat was designed for speed and easily /safely sails faster than most other day sailing vessels. Massage Services

Fitness CenterSecret Harbour Fitness Center is located in the same building as the Lobby and provides air conditioned exercise space with views of the beautiful Caribbean Sea. Use of the facility is free of charge but requires each guest using the facility to sign a waiver. Waiver forms are available at the front desk. Once the waiver is signed, a separate fi tness center key will be provided to enter the locked facility. Children are not permitted.

Located hillside with spectacular views of the ocean and neighboring islands; the pool is nestled into the landscaping that surrounds the property above the parking area. Comfort-able lounge chairs and complimentary towels are provided.

Emergency Information

The safety and the security of you and your personal property is of the utmost

concern to us. We urge you to take advantage of the following suggestions.

ADMITTANCE

Do not admit persons to your room without fi rst making identifi cation. If there is

any doubt about the person’s true identity, please contact the Front Desk.

DOUBLE LOCKS AND CHAINS

For additional security, utilize the dead bolt lock provided on your door upon en-

tering. This will prevent the door from being opened by a regular key card or key.

KEYS

Do safeguard your key. Please leave it with the Front Desk upon check-out.

SAFETY DEPOSIT BOXES / IN ROOM SAFESFor your safety please keep all articles of value in your suite safe. The resort cannot be responsible for the loss of articles unless properly secured in the safe located in your suite. See operating instructions on page 4.

PERSONAL SAFETY TIPS ON ST THOMAS

• Do not leave valuables unattended on island beaches.

• Consider taking only necessary cash or credit cards when you leave the resort.

• Discourage crimes of opportunity by locking your vehicle and not leaving

valuables in your car or trunk.

Emergency Evacuation Procedures

Upon arrival to your suite please familiarize yourself with the route from your suite

to the exit. You should also be familiar with secondary or safety locks on your door so

that in the event of an emergency you can evacuate the room. Be familiar with your

surroundings.

FIRE

All rooms are equipped with a fi re extinguisher under the kitchen sink. If a fi re is in

your room and you cannot get to the fi re extinguisher, get out and close the door.

Once out, report the fi re to the front desk and they will call the Fire Department as

well as deploy an emergency response team to the area. Front Desk: 340-775-6550,

after 1:00 a.m.: 340-227-2273.

EVACUATION PROCEDURES

In the event that we have to evacuate the building for fi re or any other emergency,

the fi rst thing to remember is not to panic. Stay calm in the event of a fi re. Take your

room key with you in case you must re-enter. Once you reach the exit, proceed to the

guest parking lot.

IF YOU MUST REMAIN IN YOUR ROOM

If smoke is too heavy for passage, please remain in your room. You should fi rst check

to see if the phone works. If it does, call the Operator and let them know your room

number. If it is after 1:00 a.m. call Security at 340-227-2273. Help will be on the way.

WHAT NOT TO DO

Do not panic. Remain Calm. Never endanger yourself by attempting to put out the

fi re. Let the Fire Department handle it.

Beach and Ocean Safety Tips & Information

BEACHES

Our sparkling beach invites you to relax and enjoy, but please be aware that

nature can be surprising. Take precautions to ensure a memorable, fun-fi lled stay.

THE SUN

Watch out for the tropical sun. It is very strong and can burn even on hazy and

overcast days. Always wear protective clothing and use an appropriate sunscreen.

MARINE LIFE

Secret Harbour’s calm bay is protected by a live coral reef. This reef and all of Naza-

reth Bay is a protected marine sanctuary. Fishing and the removal of any marine

life is prohibited by V.I. Law. Most marine life is scared of you and does not pose a

threat however a few things to be mindful of include:

• Coral abrasions/cuts from accidental contact. Clean the wound thoroughly.

Seek medical attention if necessary.

• Jellyfi sh and man-of-war stings. These can vary from mild to serious.

Vinegar is often used to treat the sting. Seek medical help if you are stung.

• Sea urchin contact. Avoid stepping on and touching sea urchins. Their sharp

and brittle spines can break off when they penetrate your hand or foot.

Should you have contact, soak the aff ected area in hot water and seek

medical attention.

INSECT REPELLENT

To prevent bites from mosquitoes and sand fl ies (no see ums) insect repellent is

recommended. Repellent and other sundry items may be purchased from Aqua

Action. Note: insects are most active just before the sun rises and sets.

IGUANAS

Our property has many iguana residents that roam the beach and climb the trees.

Although many are grey in color, they are Green Iguanas. These social lizards are often

happy to pose for photographs. They are not aggressive, but if they feel threatened or

cornered may use their tail as a whip. Please do not feed them. Iguanas are vegetarian

and should not eat people food. We ask that you be respectful of these fi ne creatures

whose age on property varies from new to up to 20 years old.
