Apart from being surrounded by undulating acres of a woodland park golf course, Shaw Hill sits like a magnificent jewel at the top. This glorious stone mansion was original built circa 1700 by the Crosse family as a home and amazingly is still a family run business.

There are 30 individually styled bedrooms which vary in size and positioning gently reflecting the period of the building. All rooms are en-suite and facilities include Telephone, TV, Hospitality Tray and 24 hour room service. Most rooms include trouser press, ironing boards or are available on request.

All guests are welcome to use the Leisure club free of charge and if you fancy a round of golf you can enjoy half price green fees - just ask at reception.

The accommodation is set over three floors with a spiralling staircase and glittering chandeliers. Due to the nature of the building there is no lift access to the floors so should you have difficulty with stairs please request ground floor rooms when booking. All public areas of the Hotel have wheelchair access.

The wonderful Georgian Manor House now lovingly restored and owned by the Stokes family, is a breathtaking sight, one which dominates the landscape as you make your way around the challenging and undulating par 72 course laid out on luxurious, undulating and verdant parkland.

The course took just over fifteen months to complete and the first rounds of golf were played in the spring of 1925. The scenic charm of the golf course belies a stern test for every level of golfer. Several strategically placed ponds, a meandering brook, internal out of bounds and hundreds of trees await any errant shots. With heavily bunkered greens, fluent dog-legs, long par threes and awkwardly placed ponds, good course management is a must. Yet the curious nature of the course rewards long hitting on the par fives in particular and accuracy on the shorter par fours and threes.

Shaw Hill is a perfect place to entertain your corporate guests. It is said that more business deals are carried out on the golf course than in the boardroom. Taylors Farm is a 300 acre farm based in Lathom &

Scarisbrick. The farm grows wheat, barley and oats

for which is used to feed a herd of mainly limousin

cattle. The cattle are reared to around 20 months

before slaughter and we also rear lambs to source

the butchery in the shop. In 2009 the family opened

a new purpose built farm shop which incorporates a butchery, fruit & veg shop

and delicatessen. The butchers sources its beef directly off the farm and many lambs,

which are all hung for 21 days to provide maximum taste and tenderness.

There is also a wide selection of local poultry, bacon, ham, black puddings and a

variety of hand linked, homemade sausages to compliment the meats on offer, all

prepared by our award winning butcher Steve and his team to suit the customers

requirments.

The delicatessen counter holds a wide range of cooked meats, homemade

pies, olives and fresh bread. A full range of lancashire cheeses is also stocked

from Crumbly to Tasty, Blacksticks to Garstang blue to Cheese bombs. And to

accompany them there is a wide selection of crackers, pickles and chutneys.

Our chef Chris makes homemade soups, homemade ready meals, coleslaw,

potato salad and fabulous cakes.
