Located at the edge of the Dubai waterfront, the Maritime City Residential Development is a study in facade design for the Om-niyat Company. Using the traditional construction as a stepping off point, the study worked to create a distinctly modern struc-ture from the same skeleton. Using a “House of Cards” approach, the study mixes solids and voids, projected balconies and recesses to create a dynamic interplay of lightness. The mixing of projections and recesses reinforces the sense that the structure has been assembled with intersecting modular construction rather than a solid traditional form.

Responsibilities :Worked with a team on construction documentation phase to submit fully developed and detailed set of drawings.

The 36-storey tower with G+2P showcases a slender structure to become one of the landmark buildings in Dubai Maritime City. The modern de-sign integrates the verticality of glazed façades and residential balconies in well-proportioned el-evations. Different façade options included wall fins that curve seamlessly from the podium to the building façade. A geometric patterned façade of-fers an alternative option. Residential units offer studios, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, 3-bedroom, and penthouse typolo-gies with loft. Building landscape is designed to complement the podium amenities and the inte-rior designs represent a coordinated approach to achieve stylishness and elegance.

AKOYA GOLF RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITYDUBAI

Year : 2012BUA : 13,568 m²Project status: Under Construction

The DTCM office development is emblematic of the Dubai’s evolving and innovative architectural values where context, function, technology and design are intertwined. Occupying 2,850 square meters of strategically located land along Sheikh Zayed Road, the design is an abstraction of a pearl in a shell – symbolic of Dubai’s humble origins – embedded in an amorphous built form – an approach to optimize valuable urban space. Externally, the building reflects the pearl atrium’s shell-inspired shape – a sophisticated representation of Dubai’s emergence as a true global city. The design captures the advances of multi-media technology in promoting Dubai. Outgrowing the architectural function of the unique building facade, a media wall introduced in the glass surface opens up opportunities for the DTCM building to ‘communicate’ with the public. Upcoming events, important visits, public announce-ments, and event backdrops will ‘animate’ the DTCM building in the most engaging set-up. The design takes cognizance of the functional requirements and needs of public and office end-users in a myriad of ways. The inclusion of signage is fundamental to effective use of spaces and office functions and operations. Sustainable and con-struction features contribute to an exemplary public sector building.

Responsibilities :-Part of team who handled the project from the design development stage to tender stage.-Produced a detailed site plan, floor plans, sections, wall sections and elevations.-Coordination with other displines -Produced the life safety documents of the project ad resposible for the civil defense submission.

Le Promenade – Phase 1 of the Al Marjan Is-land in Ras Al Khaimah

Year : 2015BUA : 1,280 m²Project status: Under Construction

Is envisioned to be a haven for retail development. Along the waterfront, a selection of buildings are ear-marked to provide entertainment, food and beverage (F&B), retail, leisure, and office spaces and to sustain activities in the waterfront. The open space layout plan-ning adopted for F&B, retail, and office buildings visual-ly connect the waterfront to the building interiors.

. Floor plans were developed to consider that all seats have unique dining experience, compact layout that balances privacy with social interactions, flexibility of furniture to permit functional uses of space according to customer requirements, observatory spaces, action spaces, close proximity of table to table, and high table to space ratio. The urban character highlights the waterfront prome-nade and retail spaces as an intertwined development that promotes local and international tourism in RAK’s iconic island development.

Responsibilities :-handled the project from the concept schematic stage to construction documentation stage.

DSOA OFFICE BUILDING - TECHNO HUB 2

Year : 2014BUA : 10,353m²Project status: Complete

A 1-hectare plot in Dubai Silicon Oasis is planned for a G+2 office building with basement parking. Using contem-porary style as a design theme, a focus on shading skin as an environmental response in addition to creating an iconic architectural language defined the building charac-ter among other considerations. Different shading devic-es create interesting facade patterns that add to the urban character of the commercial building. As a design response to climate and culture, the design incorporated a courtyard layout with overhead shading that promoted an inward-looking plan. Respecting exter-nal connectivity of the larger business community, access points at the ground level were provided with a distinct main entrance that represents the building frontage. Verti-cal and horizontal looped connections create internal con-nectivity within the working spaces. The overall design of the commercial building highlights climatic responses as a universal and feasible design solution.

Responsibilities :-handled the project from the concept schematic stage till the end of construction work, including the athuroties submissions to gain building permit.-Adapting plans according to circumstances and resolving any problems that raised during construction.- Answered RFIs, RFPs and issued ASIs.

Minimalism is the overall governing principle from exterior forms to interior spaces.Form is inspired by overlapping Geometric volumes defining simple and clean lines.A Central Dome will be admitting light throughout a wave of geometric stalactites, while a sculptural, free-standing Minaret forms the focal point of the complex. Two independent zones will host services on each floor for Men & Women .Ablution space is clearly separated from Prayer Area by an open court defined by ar-cades on both sides.

Responsibilities :-handled the project from the concept schematic stage till the tender stage, including the athuroties submissions to gain building permit.-Adapting plans according to circumstances.

UNION COOPERATIVE SOCIETY AL QUOZ

Year : 2014BUA : 10,470 m²Project status: Tender

A corner plot is designed in contemporary architec-ture to provide commercial and retail spaces for the host community in Al Quoz in Dubai. To optimize the plot, the ground level is dedicated for retail spaces with most of the shops having direct pub-lic access from the road. The first level is allocat-ed for commercial office spaces that are planned around a double-loaded corridor to optimize space use and to help sustain commercial activities in the community. A central courtyard has been provid-ed to allow natural lighting for internal spaces. To complement parking needs of the building, a single level basement car park has been designed to link directly to the ground and upper levels.

Al Majaz Amphitheatre, phase one of Al Majaz Island project, Sharjah

Year : 2014BUA : 7,238 m²Project status: Complete

The Dh120 million Roman-style amphitheatre, covering an area of 7,238 square metres, can ac-commodate up to 4,500 people.

The open-air amphitheatre is the official venue for the Sharjah Capital of Islamic Culture (SICC) 2014 celebrations and other international cultural and art events. Construction on the theatre started in November 2013 and took three months to be completed. The first of 24 heritage projects to be rolled out in Sharjah in 2014, the amphitheatre is expected to leave a lasting impression on Sharjah’s cultural calendar as it welcomes a litany of arts events in the years to come. The project, which was developed at an estimat-ed cost of Dh140 million comprises two phases; phase one is the open-air amphitheatre and phase two will include building different facilities, includ-ing restaurants, cafes, landscapes and conference halls. The Al Majaz Island project also includs a Dh13 million bridge between the island and Khalid Lagoon.

FUJAIRAH INTERATIOAL AIRPORT

Year : 2013The RIBA President’s Medals Student Awards EntryFujairah International Airport, Part 2, Project 2013 http://www.presidentsmedals.com/Entry-33041

The project aims to provide a development proposal for the airport site. The new terminal capacity will be 5,000,000 passengers/ year and will handle 2000 pas-sengers in peak hour. The terminal design follows the (A) level of service and space standards that will allow future expansion.

The terminal design concept is inspired from take-off and landing motion not only in the planes but also in nature as in the cultural sport falconry, flying fish and the ballet dancers when they jump and land. The land-ing and take-off motion is presented in two triangles the triangle shape change according to the object weight and speed in case of the bird and ballet dancer. In case of planes it is the weight and the engine power of the plane. The building form reflects Fujairah’s present, the modern port, and the past represented in old mountains and fishing ships.

Airport is a landscape of a romantic and cultural associ-ation where the first and last impression of a country is taken. The experience which the design provides from what the passenger sees from the plane till they exit the building and vice versa it is designed to be transparent to enjoy the flying experience and identify the function of the building. The building design enhances functionality by minimizing the walking distance for the passenger and provides maximum security.
