1 - Why The shark rsJ ?

This fibre jet helmet is above all, a question of passion. At Shark Marseilles, we are all passionate about two-wheels. Because we want this pleasure to last, security is our main motivation. This security is also yours.

As Benjamin Franklin said : “he who prefers freedom to security, will lose both”. This lesson has been learned and for us, security without freedom is meaningless.

We have noticed that the current market offers very little variation within the open face fiber segment. Helmets currently available on the market are either a very old design or too expensive. Our fiber jet RSJ has been designed to fill that gap.

2 - shark rsJ Technology:

2.1 - Outer shell: made from multi directional composite fibres

First, we need to be clear: the choice of fibres is only half the problem. Why? Because all the technologies are different.

The RSJ shell is made with the latest generation multi directional composite fiber; whose weight/strength ratio is much higher when compared to other manufacturers, even popular brands. Obviously the basis weight is kept secret.

Thanks to this technology, we can keep our promise: to guarantee an optimal lightness even with 2 visors fitted.

2.2 - The main visor: injected

The main visor was subject of particular attention because it had to be able to deal with a double problem: cope with high speed and reduce optical distortion.

To do so, the R&D department opted for an injected visor instead of the usual thermoformed visor, for 2 reasons:

• The injected visor keeps optical distortion to a minimum, even at high speed. This technology enables a molecular uniformity of material, at micron level, which is impossible with thermoshaping technique.

Customer benefits: pleasure and freedom.

• The 2.2 mm injected visor has an incomparable strength thanks to its technology. The visor has become an extension of the helmet shell, in other words, we protect with the same interest your face and your head. The perforation risk is therefore minimal.

Customer benefits: total safety

2.3 - Sun visor: « UV 400 protection » label

In Europe, this qualitative norm is the one applied to the optic tests for sunglasses. This has nothing to do with the depth of the colour. Just because it is dark does not mean will necessarily fully protect your eyes. Thanks to this label, it has now become easy to make the distinction between a cheap visor and Baush & Lomb visor.

2.4 - Question of safety

SHARK engineers have been fastidious in choosing the interior EPS (Expended Polystyrene). Our European partner supplies us raw material we need for the elaboration of the RSJ: a black batch tinted colour EPS, lighter and with better shock absorption qualities in case of impact. These innovative EPS liners, that differ from other helmet manufacturers, collapse, com-press and flex during impact, progressively absorbing more energy and with more precision than a solid piece. The technological jump brought thanks to this choice is a notable march.

The retention point of the chin strap has been studied to obtain our best safety results in SHARK history on roll off tests. The ratio between the location of this retention point and the gravity point of the helmet has allowed this performance.

3 – comforT and ergonomics

3.1 - Comfort

The choice of fabrics has been made to bring a high level of comfort and hygiene to users.

The basis of the RSJ interior development originates from our evolutionary helmet “Evoline”. The fabric quality along with hydrostatic and bacteriostatic treatment prevents any bacterial proliferation within the fibers.

3.2 - Ergonomics

As with the EvoLine, this jet fiber helmet has «morphometric optimized» interior. Here, everything has been developed to provide a perfect envi-ronment comparable with a full-face helmet. The cranial pressure has been reduced with ample room allowed around the ear areas. Always security and freedom.

In conclusion, it is essential to say that in accordance with our philosophy, it is important for us that these technological and secu-rity innovations are not just reserved for the elite market. The price of the RSJ has been determined by its technological development when compared to other fiber jet helmets currently available.
