SharePoint 2013 How to Add a Page

Begin by clicking on the Settings cog.

Select Add a page.

Give this page a name. Then click Create.

1

The page is being created.

Now we need to format this page. Let’s begin by selecting the Page Layout.

2

To do that, click the Page tab, select Page Layout, One Column. Next, we need to edit the title.

Select the Page tab again and select Edit Properties. We will change the title of this page from Content Title to Training.

3

In the Content Title text box, type the name of this page. Scroll down and click Save.

After the page layout and the title have been edited, click the Publish tab and then Publish.

4

Next, right-click and copy the URL address at the top of the page.

Now we have to add this link to the Navigation bar on the left. To begin, click on the Settings cog. Select Site settings.

Beneath Look and Feel, click on Navigation.

5

Click on Add Link….. (Note: If your navigation shows Global Navigation and Current Navigation, be sure to click on Current Navigation before selecting Add Link….)

Paste the URL address that you copied and remove the http://content.volusia.k12.fl.us from the link.

6

Click OK.

(Note: If you lost the URL link that you copied, here’s an easy way to retrieve it. Click on the Settings cog, select Site contents. Click on Pages. Click on the new page you just created. Click on the menu buttons (…) and you will see the URL for this page. Copy that link. )

7

You will see the new page added to this navigation at the bottom. If you click on it, you may Move Up or Move Down in the navigation bar. I will move it up so that it will show above Department Contacts and below PowerPoints. When finished, scroll down and click OK.

8

Here is the navigation link to the new page I just created!
