Shared Value Initiative India (SVII)

Shared Value India Initiative was setup by Institute for Competitiveness, India in a regional partnership with the Shared Value Initiative (SVI) division of FSG Inc., USA. It was launched at a special session organised at the Shared Value Summit in New York on May 12, 2015, in the presence of Michael E. Porter and Mark Kramer.

SVII connects the business and community leaders towards defining the practice of shared value in India. This initiative is committed towards bringing forward the realization, understanding, adoption and implementation of the best practices for creating shared value among the companies, civil society and government organizations in India, thereby accelerating the economic and social progress towards a more equitable and sustainable world.

Launching the Shared Value Enterprise®

• Transformation is happening around with enterprises realizing the significance of socio-economic business models as a way going forward.

• Holistic perspective - What, Why, How, & Where

• The whole idea of SVE is to identify, assess and recognize those enterprises that are creating a measurable social and/or environmental impact using a for-profit business model.

• Involves a multi-step detailed and objective process for getting insights into the shared value strategy of the enterprise. Two broad lenses for evaluation:

Analyzing the management strategy and overall performance of the enterprise

Evaluating the shared value orientation across the three key principles – reconceiving products/markets, reconfiguring the value chain and enabling local cluster development
