LECTURE SHEET
Obedience to Parents
Our parents are the dearest ones. They are always taking care, look after when
we need or not. They suffer much for us when we become sick. For this we shall
follow their commands and we shall obey their words. We shall honor our
parents.
We should not quarrel or rebuke with them. We shall not cause suffering to them.
We shall make them always happy.
The Prophet (sm) has said,
“The satisfaction of Allah is in the satisfaction of father and
the dissatisfaction of Allah is in the dissatisfaction of father.”
Story: One day our Prophet sat with his companions. When an old woman came
there then Prophet (sm) stand stood and honored her and spread his scarf to sit
her. After asking the companions, Prophet said that that old woman was his milk
mother.
Dua: “Rabbirhamhuma kama Rabbaiyani Sageera”
Meaning: O Allah! Look after our parents as they looked after us when we were
younger.
Good Behavior with Classmates
Classmate means associate of studying. We shall nicely behave with them. We
shall help each other in study, play, work etc. We shall meet them when they
become sick. We shall not quarrel, fight or rebuke with them. We shall not steal
anything of our classmate; this is made sin and Allah becomes displeased for this.
If any classmate is ill we should meet him in his home. We should console, nurse
and give him courage for getting well soon.
We all live together and harmony. Then our parents and teachers will be happy
and the environment will be beautiful.
Exchanging Salam
Salam means peace. Salam is to pray for peace. To give Salam in meeting people
is the nice rule of Islam. We have to give Salam in our parents, relatives, teachers,
and friends.
To give Salam is “Assalamu Alaikum”
Meaning: Peace be upon you.
Answer of Salam “Wa alaikumus salam”
Meaning: Peace be upon you too.
The great Prophet (sm) said, “The person who will greet others with a ‘Salam’
first will gain more Sowab.”
In Phone or seeing anyone we can give Salam to the people. To give Salam is
Sunnat and to answer to Salam is Wajib.
Giving Salam is Sunnat to known or unknown person especially old person.
Good behavior with Guest
Our relatives, friends and known persons come to visit our house. Those who
come to visit at our house are our guest and we are their host. At first we should
give them Salam. Then take care of them, show them honor and talk with them in
smiling face.
The Prophet (sm) said, “He who has faith in Almighty Allah and in Akhirat will
respect and honor guests.”
Story: One night a Jew came to the Prophet (sm)’ house. He took care of the Jew
and served him food. Jew had taken too much food and his stomach was upset
and indigested. He soiled the bed. He was frightened and fled from the house and
forgot to take his sword. In the morning The Prophet saw the bed and he didn’t
angry but felt sad about Jew. The Prophet (sm) cleaned the bed when Jew came
again to take his sword. Jew came with fear but he surprised to see the Prophet.
The Prophet was happy to see the Jew and said him to forgive him because he
could not understand the Jew how much suffering.
So in this case we can understand that good behavior how much important
character for a muslim. If the guest happy then Allah becomes pleased.
Serving Human beings
Human being is the best of all creations of Allah. In Islam we know all men are like
brothers. We will help each other at the time of need, like we can give money to
the poor, we can look after to the sick people, we can give water or food to the
thirsty or hungry people etc. To serve people is an Ibadat of Allah.
In the final Day of Judgment Allah will ask are we serve the needed people or how
we serve the needed people. If we served the needed people in earth then Allah
would be pleased and if we could not served the needed people in earth then
Allah would be displeased. Our Prophet (sm) always used to serve all the Muslims
and non Muslims.
Story: An old woman always put thorns on the way of the Prophet(sm). She
enjoyed seeing that the prophet(sm) was thorned at his foot. One day the
Prophet (sm) was very anxious for not seeing thorn on the way. After funding the
old woman, the Prophet saw she was very ill. The he took care of her before her
recover. At last the old woman ashamed of her evil deeds and she never put
thorn on the way.
Mercy to all living beings
Allah is so kind and he shows mercy to all living beings. Allah is pleased if we show
mercy to living beings. The Prophet (sm) said, “Show mercy to all that you see in
this world, you will be blessed with the mercy of Allah.”
We have many types of pet animals like hens, ducks, cows, dogs etc. We should
not beat and hurt them and should not throw stones or bricks at them. We look
after and love them. The Prophet said, “We should not hurt animals and birds.”
Story: A woman saw a thirsty dog on a road what was about to die. The woman
felt pity much in her heart. Then she took water for the dog from the well. As a
result after drinking water, it felt comfort and got alive. For this mercy Allah
forgave her all sins.
Speaking the Truth
To speak truth is nice behavior of a man. We also talk to parents, relatives,
siblings, teacher etc so when we speak that should be true. Everyone lies and
loves truthful person who speaks truth. Allah also loves very much the truthful
person.
To tell lie is a great sin. Nobody likes who tell lie. Allah does not like a liar who tell
lie. He will go to Jahannam.
To speak truth is a great virtue. Our Prophet (sm) always used to speak the truth.
He never tells a lie in his whole life. That why everyone called him ‘Al-Amin’. Al-
Amin means a person who is very trustworthy and truthful.
Story: One day a thief came to the Prophet (sm) and said that he did many sins
but now he wants to be a good man and how it is possible. The Prophet (sm)
listened all and said to him that stop tell lies first. Then the man stop tell lie and
gradually he gave up all sinful deeds. At last he becomes a good man.
