The average person could not build a rocket that could reach the atmosphere on their own.

The difference between people who are experts and novices at particular crafts is growing thinner by the day.

• There are some professions that are still far ahead of the trend. Engineers of all kinds are essential to everyday life, and it would be extremely difficult to replace experienced engineers even if the Internet could tell you exactly what you needed to do for each problem.

• A large part of engineering is solving problems that other people are unable to. Essentially what engineers do is use math and science to create cost-effective solutions to technical issues. By doing this, a lot of engineers end up developing entirely new products by accident.

• The reason an engineer would be hard to replace with an average person is the experience engineers have with overcoming adversity.
