Lovejoy Shaft Locking Devices
A Shaft Locking Device is made up of one inner ring and one outer ring, which are held togetherwith socket head cap screws. These rings have an inclined plane built into them. Turning the screwsbrings the rings together causing the rings to expand and fill the gap between the shaft and the hub.The pressure exerted by the expanded Shaft Locking Device on the hub ID and shaft OD creates"grip" which allows the Shaft Locking Device to hold the shaft and hub together without the need fora key, spline, or other traditional means of connection. The connection creates a very simple, yeteffective, high torque mechanical interference fit that is easy to assemble and disassemble.
Easy mounting and dismounting Zero backlash / Mechanical interference fitCan transmit high torque Unaffected by shock loads, vibration, and reversing loadsNo fretting corrosion / No bonding of partsInfinite axial and radial adjustabilityAllows for precise positioning to eliminate axial preloadingEliminates Keyways
