SHA’s Technology Mission Statement

SHA envisions a community of learners – students, teachers, parents and administration – who utilize technology to further the mission of the school and prepare students for a technology-rich future.

We will equip our learning spaces with tools that will transform both instruction and the way students encounter the world of information.

Every teacher will be knowledgeable and skilled in the use of technology to support daily instruction.

We will develop an EC-8th grade educational technology curriculum that will influence the scope and sequence of skills and information to be taught.

All members of the SHA community will use technology as a tool to thoughtfully enhance the educational environment in order for learners to:

Access, evaluate, synthesize, create and communicate information

Pursue meaningful real-world experiences that utilize technology as a means to connect us to enriched information

Investigate technology as a field worthy of exploration and curricular study in and of itself

Deepen our understanding and worldview in the pursuit of Judaic and secular education

Address academic needs in new and exciting ways

Connect with the Jewish community in Israel and world-wide

How Can You Incorporate PBL?

Brainstorm how you can shift a unit you already teach into a PBL experience.

1. How can you use cross-curricular ties?

2. What should students know & be able to do?

3. How will students demonstrate their understanding?

4. How can technology be used to create an end product?

5. How can student work be shared outside of your classroom?

6. How can specialist teachers be involved?
