Placement linked skill Development Programme is a Special Project under the governments

SGSY scheme. SREI Sahaj e-Village Limited was proposed for the Implementation of Placement

Linked Skill Development Special Protect under SGSY. The approval was granted for the training

and placement of 7,800 beneficiaries. As of 30th May, 2011, 3,805 youth have been trained out

or which 1,704 have been placed and 160 are undergoing training. Sahaj takes the responsibility

through its training division, the Sahaj Academy and associates, to impart the Demand Based

Skill Development Training to these people belonging to the poor strata of the society.

Sahaj is proud to be associated with this initiative of the Government which has the potential of

bringing up millions of Indians above

poverty line besides checking rural-

urban migration and spreading well-

being into rural households of India.

Under the SGSY, full assistance is

given to the poor families living below

the poverty line in the rural areas for

taking up self employment. The

persons taking up sell-employment

are christened as “Swarozgaris”.

In this program, the assisted families,

known as “Swarozgaris” either individuals or groups are selected from the BPL families

identified in periodic BPL census. Selected individuals or groups are imparted meaningful skill

development, afforded sustainable self-employment opportunities to assist the families pull out

of their impoverishment. As part of this effort, the training needs of the target group or

individuals are ascertained with reference to Minimum skill Requirement (MSR) laid down in

the Program.

As part of this remarkable endeavor,

suitably placing the trainees after

160 are undergoing training. Our aim is to train 7,800 by the end of August 2011.

ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN:

The List of Trade activities approved by MoRD for placements to be made by Sahaj under SGSY

Special Project are as follows:

• Basic Computer Education,

• MS Office Package,

• Rural BPO,

• DTP,

• Digital Photography,

• Security Guard,

• Welder,

• Office Assistant,

• Insurance Agent,

• PC Assembling,

• Retail sales & Service,

• Soft skill,

• Smart Financial Accounting course and course on Banking& Financial Services.

PLACEMENT

Steps to be taken for ensuring the placement of the trainees:

• Identifying the potential employers in the catchment area

• Tie-ups with the potential employers

• Imparting training based on the requirements of the employers

• Placing the trainee with not less than the minimum wages of the concerned State Govt.

SECURITY GUARD TRAINING GLIMPSES:

• Currently we have tied up with Diamond industries in Tamil Nadu under the category of

welders.

• We have initiated the soft-skill with OHTC in UP and have successfully trained 400

candidates in the last month

• We have also tie-up with G4 for security operations which is based in West Bengal and

TOPS Security - Odisha, SIS Bihar for the training and placement of 3000 persons.

• We have Security Guard Trainings in West Bengal, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar &

Assam.

• We have tied up with SS Computer Company in Tamil Nadu for providing training in

computer related jobs.

• Job fairs are conducted for attracting suitable candidates in UP and Bihar.

RECENT MOU ENTERED:

• MoU with SIS for training and placement in security guard trade in the state of Bihar.

• MoU with Legend security and Placement of Assam for training and placement in

security guard trade. (June, 2011)

OUR INFRASTRUCTURE AND FACILITIES:

• We have well furnished, well equipped, prime located Skill Development Centres with a

capacity of minimum 30 peoples’ comfortable sitting arrangement.

• We have experienced manpower in every District level Regional Control Centers headed

by Central Control Centres located in Kolkata.

• We have residential training capacity, which also has medical check-up facility and

emergency medical facility.

• Training is given by industry's leading trainers and training institutes like SSS Computer

services, AISECI, OTH, ITI, SIS, G4s Training Section, ESAB Welding institutes with all

modern equipments.

Village- Kutura Chuan, Sambalpur, Orissa

Working Status- Unemployed

About me- I was just a +2 passed and ignorant of job opportunities. In my area there is no

scope for job and I was hesitated to go to big town for job. Money is a big factor to lessen my

confidence level & poor knowledge was the roadblock to my progress. I am confident that if I

get a chance then I will prove to the world that I can do every type of work.

Family Status- My family includes nine members including parents. Father is working as daily

laborer. My family income is very less so that I couldn’t pursue my study. At present my two

younger brothers are studying in school. My mother’s health remains poor round the year. I

want to support her medical expenses.

Post Training and Placement

Working Status - Employed

Training Schedule - 21 days in ESAB, KOLKATA

Company - Cethar Vessels Limited, Tirchi, Tamilnadu.

Job Profile - Welder

Duration - 26 days on the job+ OT

Salary - Rs 250 per day + PF+ ESI

(Accommodation & Food - Free accommodation and food in subsidized rate during training

period.)

Post Placement Transformation: Groomed technically in welding, independent, confident,

ready to face any type of challenges, more knowledge about the outer world, career prospect

and future. I am confident if I work for five year I can start my own welding shop in my area and

motivate others to change their life style.

I have already paid Rs 10,000 medical bill for my mother. My family is very happy for my

success. Younger siblings and junior of my village listen to me. Neighbors also appreciate my

success and laud me. I want to buy clothes for family and books to educate my siblings.

Sahaj’s role in Transformation– Sahaj has given me a right platform at the right time to know

about the job prospect, motivated me a lot to grow in life. Sahaj has transformed my career

and life.
