What’s The T? The Entertainment Report

Sarah Jessica Parker is Offended by rumors of Feud on SATC

Sarah Jessica Parker has said she finds reports that she does-

n't get on with her Sex and the City movie co-stars “offensive”.

The actress's relationship with her co-stars has been the subject of constant speculation since the

original TV series began twelve years ago.

Most recently it was claimed that Parker had fallen out with Kim Cattrall, who plays Samantha

Jones.

But in an interview with Stylist magazine, the 44-year-old said she was tired of the rivalry re-

ports.

―We're very tight, despite what people try to say. We've gone through something together that

only we can understand,‖ she said.

―I love these women. Nor could I imagine anyone else playing those characters.

―This year it'll be 12 years since we did the pilot. To speculate that it's not harmonious is,

frankly, offensive.‖

Parker added that when she and co-stars Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis reunited to

film the forthcoming movie sequel to Sex and the City their relationships ―sprang back‖.

The film is due to be released next summer.

'PRECIOUS' STAR REACTS TO GLOBE NODS: Gabourey Sidibe more

excited that Justin Timberlake said her name.

It's one thing to receive a best actress Golden Globe nomination for your

first film, but it's a whole different ballgame when your celebrity crush is the

one who delivers the news.

"Oh my God, Justin Timberlake just said my name," "Precious" star Ga-

bourey Sidibe gushed to People magazine of the announcement Tuesday morn-

Page 6: SGL Weekly Mag Issue 33

6

ing. "I'm so very excited to come into this be-

cause I'm usually on the other side. I'm a fangirl

and I watch these things happen, but they don't

happen to me!"

Sidibe joins Emily Blunt, Sandra Bullock,

Carey Mulligan and Helen Mirren as nominees

for best actress in a motion picture (drama). But

those women apparently have nothing on Tim-

berlake.

"I told my roommate, and I literally said,

'Oh my God, Justin just said my name,'" said the

self-described 'N Sync fanatic. "He finally said

my name."

Mo'Nique, who plays the hateful mother of

Sidibe's character, was nominated in the sup-

porting actress category. She'll face "Up in the

Air" co-stars Vera Farmiga, playing Clooney's

frequent-flyer soul mate, and Anna Kendrick,

playing a smart but inexperienced efficiency

expert, Penelope Cruz as a filmmaker's insecure

mistress in "Nine," and Julianne Moore as a

grief-stricken professor's best pal in "A Single

Man."

"Precious" also picked up a Golden Globe

nod for best drama. It will compete against the

recession-era tale "Up in the Air," which led the

pack with six nominations, space fantasy

"Avatar," the Iraq War tale "The Hurt Locker,"

and the World War II saga "Inglorious Bas-

terds."

Morgan Freeman's role of Nelson Mandela

in "Invictus" earned a best actor nomination,

along with "Up in the Air's" George Clooney,

Jeff Bridges as a boozy country singer in "Crazy

Heart," Colin Firth as a grieving gay academic

in "A Single Man" and Tobey Maguire as a pris-

oner of war in "Brothers."

The 67th annual Globes will be handed out

Jan. 17, six days before nomination voting

closes for the Oscars. The Globes are presented

by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, a

group of about 85 critics and reporters for over-

seas outlets.

X Factor's Joe McElderry Behind Rage

Against The Machine In Christmas Number

One Race

Sales figures show...

X Factor winner Joe McElderry is behind

Rage Against The Machine in the race to top

the UK Christmas singles chart.

The 18-year-old singer’s cover of The Climb by

Miley Cyrus had been expected to comfortably

claim the top spot on Sunday.

However, the US band's single 'Killing In The

Name' has emerged as a competitor thanks to a

Facebook campaign.

According to the Official Charts Company, the

song, which became chart eligible 24 hours be-

fore McElderry's cover, is now slightly ahead.

"This is shaping up to be a very exciting battle

between two different records which have cap-

tured the nation's imagination,‖ Martin Talbot,

managing director of the Official Charts Com-

pany, said.

―But, although Rage Against The Machine have

started off in front, according to our initial sales

estimates, there is no doubt that this tussle is far

from over."

If successful, Rage Against The Machine will

Page 7: SGL Weekly Mag Issue 33

become the first non-X Factor act to claim the

Christmas number one spot in five years. NICK CANNON TO REVIVE JOSIE AND THE

PUSSYCATS: And that's just the tip of the ice-

berg. Radio show, MTV series, books, movies and

more on horizon.

Actor Nick Cannon and Atlantic Records are

looking to launch a new

multi-platform franchise

in the resurrection of

Josie and the Pussycats,

an all-girl singing trio

based on the Archie

Comics characters.

Cannon, who dubbed

them "the first rock 'n'

roll girls group," hopes a

global search for the three

girls will yield a reality

competition series and eventually evolve into a

scripted comedy-drama, both to air on Nickelo-

deon's TeenNick channel where he serves as

chairman.

The characters inspired two cartoon series in

the 1970s and a 2001 live-action feature film

starring Rachael Leigh Cook, Tara Reid and

Rosario Dawson.

The "Josie" project is one of many in the

works at Cannon's recently launched production

company NCredible Entertainment. At MTV,

where Cannon produced the sketch-comedy

show "Wild 'N Out," he is behind "Nick Cannon

Presents Hatin' on '09," a comedic year-in-

review special that will air on New Year's Day.

Cannon taped an appearance as President

Obama, with rapper-actor 50 Cent also set to do

a segment.

Also at MTV, NCredible did a reality docu-

drama pilot "Son of a Gun: A True Bronx Tale,"

about young rapper Corey Gunz, and is pro-

ceeding with filming additional episodes of the

show about Gunz, one of the first artists on Can-

non's music label.

At Adult Swim, NCredible is working on a

puppet show set in the real world. Written by

Hadjii, it is about members of a hip-hop group

who live together and are on the verge of mak-

ing it big. It's being described as a hip-hop ver-

sion of HBO's "Entourage."

NCredible is also venturing into publishing,

signing a deal with Simon & Schuster Chil-

dren's Publishing Division to produce a multi-

media book series to coincide with the upcom-

ing premiere of the Cannon-written and -

directed Nickelodeon movie "The School

Gyrls."

The film features the NCredible-signed three

-girl singing group whose debut album will be

released by Island Records. Cannon penned the

first book, a movie novelization, and plans to be

involved in the writing of the six original novels

under the pact. There also are plans for potential

second movie and a possible TV series.

Cannon also is making his foray into radio

with a daily morning drive show on CBS Ra-

dio's WXRK-FM New York (92.3 Now). He

debuts on the top-40 station January 19.

"I always wanted to do radio," said Cannon,

who has frequently filled in for radio hosts Ryan

Seacrest and Steve Harvey.

Cannon, who married Mariah Carey last

year, is keeping his summer job and will return

as host of NBC's "America's Got Talent" next

year.

KENNY ORTEGA TO DIRECT 'IN THE

HEIGHTS': 'This is It' helmer chosen to

bring Broadway musical to

the big screen.

Kenny Ortega, the director

of the "High School Musical"

movies and "Michael Jack-

son's This Is It," has signed

on for the upcoming film ad-

aptation of Tony-winning Broadway musical

"In the Heights."

The play explored three days in New York

City's Dominican-American neighborhood of

Washington Heights and featured hip-hop, salsa,

merengue and soul music.

It received 13 Tony nominations, winning

for best musical in 2008.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, who composed and

wrote the musical as well as starred in it, is set

to reprise his role as a bodega owner in the Uni-

versal Pictures version and will also produce

with Quiara Alegria Hudes, who is writing the

screen adaptation.

RIHANNA POSES TOPLESS ON GQ

COVER: Singer also bares soul for interview

in January issue. Pop star Rihanna is fea-

tured in the upcoming Janu-

ary issue of GQ magazine

complete with a photo layout

and cover that are just as re-

vealing as her interview,

which the magazine has titled

"Good Girl Gone Badass."

The publication – which

has Rihanna topless on the

cover, using her arms to cover her breasts – says

of the article: "You've never heard or seen Ri-

hanna quite like this." Ms. Fenty, meanwhile,

feels these interviews are helping her to heal.

"It's relieving," she told GQ, "because it was

built up for so long, and all these thoughts and

emotions have been running through my mind

for the past eight months. And now it's like I

finally get to let go and move on."

"I wanted people to move on with me," she

continues, "'cause the last big thing they know

about me is That Night. And I don't want that to

be what people define me as."

While Rihanna was in seclusion following

the attack, she soon returned to the studio to re-

cord her latest album "Rated R," which takes on

a distinctly darker, edgier tone than her previous

Top 20-friendly song "Umbrella."

"Nobody [helped me]. Really just music.

And working," she explains, "'Cause I didn't

really want to be around anybody, for them to

stare at me and stuff, and feel sorry for me.

Below is an excerpt from the GQ interview:

GQ: What exactly do you think people think

about you that's wrong?

R: It's not really anything that's wrong. It's just

weird when I read about myself. Like how one

simple thing can be turned into something dif-

ferent.

GQ: Like when people were talking about com-

municable diseases?

R: Hmm?

GQ: When people were bringing up herpes, for

instance. Saying that's why Chris Brown hurt

you—

R: Right. And it's not true. It's a f**king scar.

On my lip. That's there every day of my life.

GQ: It must be hard reading that kind of stuff.

R: It's not like it's hard. It's more ignorant. At

first I was like, Are you serious? First I thought

people were gonna definitely know that that's

not…But when I read it, and I see that people

just buy into that…Like, the minute they see it,

it forms something in their head.

ALFRE WOODARD

TO TASTE 'TRUE

BLOOD': Actress signs

on for a guest role.

Alfre Woodard is

booking jobs left and

right.

Page 9: SGL Weekly Mag Issue 33

9

After her CBS drama was cancelled last

month, the Emmy-winning actress was quickly

cast in TNT's upcoming dramedy pilot "Delta

Blues" in a co-starring role opposite Jason Lee.

This week, Woodard was announced as the

latest guest star on HBO's vampire drama "True

Blood," according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The star will play the mother of Lafayette

Reynolds (Nelsan Ellis), the cook at Merlotte's

who got busted for selling vampire blood and

held captive and tortured by Eric (Alexander

Skarsgard). Since Lafayette and Tara (Rutina

Wesley) are cousins, it means that Sookie's best

friend would be getting a visit from her aunt.

CHRIS BROWN IS A TWITTER QUIT-

TER: Singer ends account after falsely accus-

ing Wal-Mart of blackballing his CD. Indus-

try says album is in stock, but not selling.

Chris Brown's has quit

microblogging service

Twitter in the wake of his

recent tweet rant accusing

music retailers of boy-

cotting his new album

"Grafitti," an allegation

that turned out to be false.

Brown tweeted in a

series of messages: "im tired of this sh*t. major

stores r blackballing my cd. not stockin the

shelves and lying to customers. what the f**k

do i gotta do... ... yeah i said it and i aint retract-

ing sh*t im not biting my tongue about sh*t

else... the industry can kiss my a**."

He also noted specifically that he "JUST

WAS AT WALMART IN Wallingford CT,844

north colony.. they didn't even have my album

in the back... not on shelves, saw for myself."

Wallingford's Wal-Mart has responded, say-

ing they are indeed carrying Brown's album.

"We are surprised at the comments on Twit-

ter, since all Wal-Mart stores carried the CD

since its release, including the Wallingford store

mentioned in the post," a rep for the chain said,

according to Billboard.com. "This store had in

fact sold through their copies over the weekend.

The majority of our stores are showing today

they have copies on hand."

Billboard further reported that a survey and

store visits found that Wal-Mart, Best Buy,

Trans World and Newbury Comics are all carry-

ing the Brown record and sources say that his

album received widespread distribution and pro-

motion by his label, Jive Records, and his dis-

tributor, Sony Music Entertainment. Jive

shipped over 400,000 units of "Graffiti," and

also had it positioned in prime stores space at all

key accounts, according to sources. In fact,

sources suggest that Jive may have overshipped

his record, as sales are slow.

"Not only am I carrying it, I am over carry-

ing it, because it isn't selling," says the head of

purchasing at one large chain. "I wish I could

return it." He says the album's first week sales

only reached 40% of expectations. At 27-unit

Newbury Comics, Carl Mello head of purchas-

ing, echoes that sentiment. "We have it; it's not

selling much."

Although Brown pleaded guilty to charges

in connection with his attack of former girl-

friend Rihanna in February, Mello says the

chain never even considered boycotting Brown -

- an accusation leveled by the singer on Twitter.

"We never considered not bringing it in. If we

stopped bringing in records from every unsa-

vory character that puts out an album, there

would be tumbleweed floating around our

stores."

Sources project that Brown sold about

100,000 units last week, well below the 150,000

-175,000 units he was expected to sell. Mello

says that the album is probably about the No. 40

best-selling title at the chain.

Page 10: SGL Weekly Mag Issue 33

10

In any case, Brown has decided to get rid of his Twitter account @mechanicalDummy,

which now greets fans with the words "doesn't exist."

Ask Nathan

Dear Nathan,

I gave a friend my life savings to put away for me. He has since been laid off and is going

through some financial trouble. He has been calling several people asking to borrow

money. I'm afraid he has tapped into my funds. How do I ask for my money back with out

telling him I know about his financial problems or jeopardizing our friendship?

Cordially,

Nate

Dear Nate - Friends and money rarely mix. You should request your life savings. You will be jeopardizing your friendship if you do or if you don't. You will resent him for spending your money and you will resent yourself for not speaking up. Be brave; remember it is YOUR money. Always, Nathan Seven Scott Create a "Sevenly" Day! Moviestar

Keith Jordan

Makes the

Yuletide Gay A Cleavester Brooks Interview

Cleavester: Hello Keith, How are you doing?

Keith Jordan: Doing well, enjoying a random rainstorm in LA. We don't get too many of

those.

Cleavester: In your new movie Make the Yuletide Gay you play the character Olaf 'Gunn" Gun-

nunderson. What kind of person is your character?

Keith Jordan: Olaf is kind of a shy person, not one to seek out the spotlight like perhaps Na-

than (his boyfriend) does. He is the type that looks at things from all angles before he makes any

decision, he is very analytical. He is the left-brain thinker while Nathan is right-brain. He defi-

nitely over thinks things a bit. This is why he hadn't come out to his parents; he just built it up in

his head until it was this huge thing that was so much bigger then in reality.

Cleavester: In the movie your character has to make a huge decision. Have ever made a decision

like that to your family and what was it?

Keith Jordan: I never really had something that was very hard for me to talk about to my par-

ents. I am lucky to have such a supportive family. Especially with the career that I have chosen,

my parents and my whole family have always been in my corner. I'm really blessed in that way.

Page 14: SGL Weekly Mag Issue 33

14

Cleavester: You haven't done a picture since 2007, is it hard to get roles in Hollywood and How

do you decide whether to do a role or not?

Keith Jordan: Definitely, but anything worth doing is going to be difficult. I realize that build-

ing a career is going to take time, and it may not be a steady climb. You just have to ride the

waves when they come and realize that it can all be gone tomorrow. It keeps you on your toes,

it's exciting.

Cleavester: How did you get the part in Make the Yuletide Gay?

Keith Jordan: I got the audition through my agent, the good old fashion way.

Cleavester: Have you ever been discouraged from taking a SGL role?

Keith Jordan: This is the first SGL role I've played. It never occurred to me to not take the

role, it was a character in a movie that seemed interesting to me.

Cleavester: Are you SGL (Same Gender Loving) and if not how was it to play a character that

is? How big of a stretch was it?

Keith Jordan: I am actually straight. It was kind of nerve racking at first when I booked the

role. I wasn't 100% sure how to play the role, I just knew I didn't want him to turn into a stereo-

type. But after I read the script a bunch and started to figure out his relationship he had with his

parents and Nathan, everything sort of fell into place.

Cleavester: Who is the real Keith Jordan?

Keith Jordan: I am not all that different from Olaf, I really retro fitted parts of myself into the

role. I am a bit shy and silly with a bunch of sarcasism thrown in there.

Page 15: SGL Weekly Mag Issue 33

15

Cleavester: Where are you from?

Keith Jordan: I am from North East Pennsylvania. The Poconos, honey-moon capital of the

USA circa 1978. Though we didn't have a heart shaped tube.

Cleavester: What was life like growing up?

Keith Jordan: Life was great. Great family, younger brother and older sister to play with all the

time. I really enjoyed being the middle child.

Cleavester: What did you want to be growing up?

Keith Jordan: At first, a tractor. Then briefly a Ninja Turtle, but shortly after that a garbage

man, followed by some time of super hero that flys. Then at some point an actor.

Cleavester: Favorite Holiday?

Keith Jordan: Taco Tuesday.

Cleavester: How will you spend the holiday's this year?

Keith Jordan: Back in good old PA with the family.

Cleavester: What childhood gift was the best gift you ever received?

Page 16: SGL Weekly Mag Issue 33

16

Keith Jordan: The one I remember the most was the Original NES. I don't think I ever got that

excited over a present like that since. I mean Super Mario Bros. blew my mind. And don't even

get me started on The Legend of Zelda. I don't think I left my room until after New Years.

Cleavester: How did you get your start in the industry?

Keith Jordan: I went to college for Theater in NYC, and just kept on trucking ever since. Liv-

ing in New York as an actor is such an amazing experience and impossible to describe and the

single best decision I've made my whole life.

Cleavester: What is your guilty pleasure?

Keith Jordan: I guess 80's arcade games, though I don't really feel all that guilty...should I? I

mean come on, Dragon's Lair, Bubble Bobble, Burger Time = awesomeness.

Cleavester: Favorite quote?

Keith Jordan: Pretty much anything Homer says on the Simpson's. Here is just one...

Homer: Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It’s what separates us from the animals…

except the weasel.

Cleavester: Bad habit?

Keith Jordan: I can procrastinate like its nobodies business.

Cleavester: Favorite new artist?

Page 17: SGL Weekly Mag Issue 33

17

Keith Jordan: Not sure, I’ve been out of the loop lately.

Cleavester: Celebrity you've been mistaken for?

Keith Jordan: I get Kevin Connelly all the time. A friend once told me I looked like one of the

Hobbits from Lord of the Rings. I asked him which one, and he told me "you know the fat hob-

bit." He is longer my friend.

Cleavester: Favorite TV show you would like to star in and why?

Keith Jordan: Oh man, so many. The Office is my favorite show right now. And I also really

love Modern Family. And I'd love to be on anything being produced by Warner Bros... *wink

*wink, but truly I would love to go back in time and be on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Joss Whe-

don is my hero.

Cleavester: Last movie you saw in the theatres?

Keith Jordan: The Road, great movie though it made me depressed, tired and hungry. I got

some tacos afterward and felt a lot better.

Cleavester: Tell me something about you that your fans may be surprised to know?

Keith Jordan: That I have fans.

Cleavester: What can we expect from you in the future?

Keith Jordan: Bigger and better stuff. I am always learning and growing in this biz.

Cleavester: How can the people get in contact with you?

Keith Jordan: I guess that would be twitter, @keithjordan101 I’m still new at it, but it has been

a lot of fun talking to people on there who have seen the movie.

Cleavester: Thank you Keith, Do you have any special message for our readers?

Keith Jordan: Thanks to everyone who has seen the movie and has said such kind things to me

about my performance. It really means a lot to me. I have a good feeling about things to come.
